he's always like that. He is a strange cat, man.

As for Hurt Locker. Obviously not everyone will agree with it and it may not be to your particular liking, but overall, the majortiy of people liked its style and suspense/drama it created.

Did anyone else see Samuel L. Jackson make that funny face after Monique's acceptance speech? which by the way was ridiculous.

That's probably the last criteria a movie should be judge on.

I don't think any of the pictures up there were the best of the year. Of the ones nominated I actually liked UP most, but it seemed lame that it could be up a best of two different categories.

I've long since stopped placing any faith that any actor or picture who wins an Oscar was actually the best in that category. Occasionally it does happen.

I think Hurt Locker was a good movie. That's what a movie that's "good" should be. To be the best it should be more than that, but that's been the case for a long time.

It wasn't just the box office.

I went to see Avatar 3 times. Needless to say It was a spectacular experience. It made THE most impact in movie this year. It's on par with Jurassic Park for me in the Imagination (not the story but the world itself) and awe factor category.

Jurassic Park went head to head with Schindler's list the year "List" got best picture.

Tell me which movie had more impact on Cinema?

They need to re-release the "Soul Plane" DVD in a special Academy Awards version in honor of Mo'Nique's win.

I personally think the "Hurt Locker" won because so many of our soldiers are blown up on a daily basis by IEDs and this touches on that tough subject. It's like the Oscars trying to do right by our soldiers or along that vein. I could be wrong but that is my opinion.

I didn't enjoy this year's Oscars at all. I was disappointed in the opening. I didn't think Steve and Alec were anything special. I can see why they skipped over them mostly in the opening. They probably couldn't get anything better to work so they saved the nitpicking on audience members as the final opening bit. I turned it off before the final awards for actress, film, and director...cause I was of the opinion I would rather be sleeping.

There really wasn't anything shocking about this Oscars at all. I thought they were talking it up like it would be different...but it was one of the most boring Oscars I think I've ever seen. They should also shrink the best picture nominees from 10 back down to 5 imo.

I saw Avatar twice myself. But the award isn't the biggest impact award. If there are better overall movies, and there were, they should win it.

Agree on all points. Very boring. Definitely need to show clips of best pictures nominee before announcing the winner as well. Hanks came on the stage and announced it within 10 sec and that was it. No drama or suspense whatsoever. Its as if they were running out of time and had to hurry it up. Need to show clips of the actors nominated before announcing it also. I don't wanna hear their friends tell a sappy story about their lives. Who gives a ****?

I think that's exactly what happened. They ran out of time.

They showed clips of every movie throughout the entire show with an introduction by individual actors. Why would they then show ten clips all over?

Didn't think Hurt Locker should've won it. I actually think Avatar would have gotten it because of its hype. I was going for Inglorious Basterds... it's pretty pathetic and sad that Up in the Air or Inglorious Basterds didn't win it. Hurt Locker was a great movie... but not Best Picture at the Oscars material.
