Pacers 2010-11 Team Salary: $64.82M, not incl. McRoberts If cap at $56.1M, projected LT line: $68M + 10th draft pick = $67.06M Brooks + Hill + Ariza + Taylor + Jeffries (expiring) + NY's 2011 =$18,673,203 FOR Granger + Foster = $17,828,202 Pacers team salary after trade: $67.91M Brooks, Price, Ford Rush, D.Jones, Taylor Ariza, Dunleavy, (10th pick) Murphy, Hansbrough, Jeffries Hibbert, Hill, S.Jones Rockets team salary not including Scola and Lowry with Hayes's option declined: $59.50M [Lowry] Martin, Budinger Granger, Battier, (14th pick) [Scola], Andersen Foster, Yao
That leaves us weak at the Point Guard and Power Foward Position. Let them keep Foster and lets us have Murphy and Ford. Then use the MLE to sign Mike Miller. Then use the veterans minimum on Brad Miller or Marcus Camby. Lowry/Ford Martin/Budinger/Miller Granger/Budinger/Miller Scola/Murphy Yao/Miller or Camby? Will this work though?
Not trading Brooks fro Granger, put Lowry in the deal instead! Granger is a two way player, I think the man is beastly and at least he would not be playing us anymore.
nevermind, forgot Lowry is a RFA. idk, Granger is a good player but not good enough to give away all those players for.
dont be stupid morey!!!..doesnt anyone remember the barkley trade?..we traded half of a championship TEAM for a washed up allstar..i believe we are pretty close here with the roster in need of a couple really smart tweeks...
Rockets aren't getting a top ten player in this league without giving up a lot. Even with the proposed offer above, Bird would probably hang up, before Morey could finish asking for Granger.
That washed up all-star was a bear hug away from helping us get to the NBA Finals. I know I know it was game 6 but I believe in my heart we would have won game 7...
The Rockets can get a top 10 player IF...IF that player wants to come to Houston, they have all the leverage. Otherwise we are rolling with Yao. DD
don't know which washed up all-star you are referring to, but clyde was the one who got bear hugged by malone, not barkley
You know you aren't proposing a realistic trade, unless two or three people tell you it sucks. I could propose LBJ for David Andersen, and I think some poster would demand that I replace Andersen for the draft rights to Axel Hervelle, and require Cleveland to throw in a first round pick before they'd approve. worzel gummidge, I think Indiana probably would hang up on you unless you were really lucky, and if they didn't I'm not entirely sure it is the best route, but at least you thought it through and came up with something legitimate and reasonably fair to both sides.
He said he did not want to come to Texas earlier this year.....he could have been woofing..but you never know. DD
my point is a TEAM playing together is better than 1 star any day..look at robert horry who was in that trade..went on to win what?..4 more rings, not because he was ever a star player.but he was a damn good TEAM player..btw those TEAM players took us further then mr. barkley took us..plus our roster has to be deep to win it all..
I think he is schizophrenic, LOL! Seriously, who wouldn't want to home play in Houston? 1. No Income Taxes 2. Great Coaching Staff : Adelman 3. Great Front Office: Morey 3. Big City with lots of Strip Clubs 4. Play alongside a great supporting cast such as Yao, Scola, and Brooks. If I were unhappy with my current situation such as Bosh, I would demand a trade to Houston!
He might, but he also might be worried about coming here because of Yao, and the uncertainty about his situation. DD
Well that can be a good thing too. With Yao being limited to lets say 25 mpg, Bosh can still be the top dog on the team, at least during the regular season. Morey did say he expects Yao to be fully healthy this time next year. I rather have Yao play less during the regular season and more during the playoffs.
Morey also said Tmac was ahead of schedule and looked real good last summer. Morey is playing poker, he is not going to tip his hand. DD
