Does Al Jefferson play defense?? Is he smart?? I don't know. I wouldn't give up Scola for him.

Which is why the owners are going to include a franchise tag in the next CBA.

bud, taylor or hill, scola, and jeffries for Al and Lee....Nahh! I rather have Bud on this squad.Scola i wouldnt mind. but this could be true since NJ does want Scola hopefully is not for the rook they just drafted.

Scola is a much better player than Al at the price and Al is undersized at center.

I much rather go after someone like Gortat or Chandler, maybe even Okafor if Hornets let us have CP3 too.

    Indiana
    Houston
    New Orleans

Indiana trades: Granger and Foster (2nd round pick)
    Indiana recieves: West and Martin

Houston trades: Martin, Jeffries, Battier, Brooks, Andersen (one of the Knicks pick)
Houston recieves: Paul, Granger and Okafer

NO trades: Paul, West and Okafer
NO receieves: Foster, Jeffries, Battier, Brooks and Andersen (2nd round and one of the Knicks picks)

Indiana gets to try something new while staying strong, possibly betting themselves. And if we can get more expirings outta Indiana, then you take all multi year contracts from NO by getting Posey. Putting NO in total rebuild mode, saving hoards of money.

Houston moves Ariza to the two and you now have our own trio. A real trio unlike the Artest trio. (dont get me wrong I liked the Artest run but he wasnt an all star like that to make it a official trio). Okafer, while a bit overpaid isnt a bad player. Makes a VERY good back up and can play starter minutes to let Yao rest. I have a feeling a trade like this would also have to include either Hill or PP, preferably Hill.

NO goes into total rebuild and re-money up the team. Getting ALL expirings. Plus the ability to resign the players, especially Brooks. (Maybe getting Posey traded for more Indiana expiring might be key to add flavor to this deal on the NO side taking care of their four highest contracts.) They get two picks.

Bash if you will, I thinks its legit.

    Paul/Lowry
    Budinger/Taylor
    Granger/Ariza
    Scola/Patterson
    Yao/Okafor

I think we can beat the Lakers with that lineup.

Just saw your sig, you would love a trade like this to happen! lol

But Bud isnt ready to start and he wont start over Ariza. His team defense isnt good enough and we would need an better then average defender to guard the starting 2's ie Kobes and Wades. Bud wont be playing 2 much anyway, at least this board thinks that. He would back up Danny. Ariza starts at 2.

Okafer would get plenty of minutes, behind both Yao and Scola and then we could only hope PP gets PTime. I hope so at least.

    lol no ****.

Also, UH gives out Cougar Cards for various academic achievements and so forth...

On Drexler's Cougar Card it says that he won 2 championships with the Rockets and I had to go ahead and correct a professor which is normally not my M.O. at all

    Re-visit Chandler trade.

    Barbosa, Taylor, Belinelli
    Weems, Derozan
    Bargnani, Davis, Evans
Hayes, Johnson, Dorsey (non-guaranteed), Alabi (unsigned 50th pick, cut at training camp?)

    2012 NY pick + Battier + non-guaranteed filler (Harris & Johnson) for→ Prince

    Stuckey, Bynum, White
    Hamilton, Gordon
    Battier, Daye, Summers
    Maxiell, Jerebko
    Monroe, CharlieV, Wilcox

    Brooks, Lowry
    Martin, Budinger
    Prince, Ariza
    Scola, Patterson/Andersen
    Chandler, Yao

    To address our backup C.

    Jeffries + Hill

    for

    Verajao

I personally hate his flopping, but that (and the hair) aside, he would be a good fit. 6-11, rebounding, defensive minded C/PF that hustles and knows his role.

Varajeo: over $9M owed to him in 2013-14. Set to make over $9.7M in 2014-15, but only $4M is guaranteed. Has a 5% trade kicker in his deal.

    No, thanks.

I know... I remember balking at his deal when he signed that contract. However, seeing Dalembert, Chandler, Tyrus, and even Darko with their contracts I'm starting to think that we will have to overpay for our backup big sometime. He is 7 mil - 9 mil / year which would realistically be overpaying by about 2-3 mil per year. Maybe I'm just getting antsy with the lack of moves.

We should make a move with the Bobcats for G.Wallace and offer up Battier/Hill/pick. He is a Laker killer and would bring back some heart to this team.

Then turn around and try to make a deal with Orlando for Gortat with
Jeffries and Budinger. Budinger replaces Barnes and Jeffries salary dump/trade asset.
