Yes I did think about this yu can get an upgraded wing and use battier in a Trade for a big man. If we don't get brad miller of course but he could still help us in our playoff run
The only way Morey would even look at Richard Jefferson if he wanted to make the whole roster former Wildcats.
He is not that much of an upgrade. He is not great defensively and has a lost a step. He is not that much more of an upgrade therefore there are no reasons to go after him.
Just because he didnt fit in with the spurs system doesn't mean he sucks it jus means that he didn't fit in and that was the lowest scoring since his rookie year
Anthony Randolph... Why didnt we try to get him from the GSW? Now he's going to NY. Height, size, over 1.5 blks...
I know a lot of people will immediately reject this idea because of age and playoff performance, but I wonder if there would be interest in Antawn Jamison by the Rockets. It would seem like Cleveland, post LeBron, has little use for him, and his contract has two more years on it. Too long for a rebuilding team like Cleveland that wants cap room ASAP, but not too long for a contender. Yes, I know he didn't play well in the playoffs, which tells me Jamison isn't a legit No. 2 for a championship team. However, he is still a very good scorer and a "quick" 4, and could see him fitting well with Yao and/or Scola. At 34 I wouldn't give that much value for him, but I'd see if Cleveland would be tempted by expirings (Jeffries/Andersen) and a prospect and/or pick.
Ok before I get destroyed by AB lovers, I LIKE THE GUY but I also want to improve the squad so here goes. Raymond Felton is about to sign with the Knicks, so they have DJ Augustin and that's it for PGuards. What if we were to offer... AB, Ariza and the Rockets 2012 pick(not the Knicks) for Gerald Wallace and Alexis Ajinca Rox upgrade their Small Forward spot and get a backup center for Yao in Ajinca, who has looked pretty good in the Summer League. Now we would have to sign a PG like a Ridnour for like 3 million, or somebody like that, to pair with Lowry. Bobcats get a PG to pair with Augustin who can actually shoot and a defensive minded SF for Larry Brown along with a 1st rd pick. Lowry/Ridnour Martin/Budinger Wallace/Battier Scola/PP/Hayes Yao/Hill/Ajinca I like that team, I like it A LOT.
I would love to have Gerald Wallace on my team! Dude is the definition of hustle and is Morey type of guy, meaning he has a knack of getting to the free throw line alot. Only turn off is his shooting, but its much better than Ariza's though. How bout Ariza + Anderson + NY 2012 Pick + Brooks + Johnson + Jeffries for Wallace + Chandler? Lowry/Ridnour Martin/Taylor Wallace/Battier/Budinger Scola/Patterson Yao/Chandler/Hill
Nash → Brooks + Hill + 2012 NY 1R pick + Jeffries (filler) Ibaka (OKC under the cap) → Taylor + Battier + 2012 HOU 1R pick Nash, Lowry Martin, Budinger, Taylor Ariza, (Patterson), (Budinger) Scola, Patterson, Andersen Ibaka, Yao, (Andersen)
Charlotte Bobcats & Houston Rockets... trade proposal... Rockets Get: Tyson Chandler(7'1) D.J. Augustin (6'0) Reason the Rockets do it is because they get young promising player in Augustin, as well as a legitimate back-up center in Tyson Chandler. This also allows us to insert some size and athleticism in our starting front court by inserting Jordan Hill at PF(his more natural position). Bobcats Get: Luis Scola Jared Jeffries The reason the Bobcats do it is because they get a great low post player in Luis Scola, which gives them some scoring inside. Which is something they lacked greatly this past season. ....... 2010/11 Houston Rockets line-up: Brooks 6'0 | Lowry 6'1 | Augustin 6'0 Martin 6'7 | Taylor 6'4 Ariza 6'8 | Budinger 6'7 | Battier 6'9 Hill 6'10 | Patterson 6'9 | Hayes 6'6 Yao 7'6 | Chandler 7'1 | Andersen 6'11
