I agree its overpaying but honestly do you trust Yao to stay healthy? Now of course this is plan B if the "elite" talent Morey wants to acquire falls through so he would not only be your backup but your insurance and eventual replacement in case Yao is gone. The dude is a 7 foot center who is a 20-10 player waiting to happen just needs to be the man, the issue IMO is Ariza+#1 isn't enough but we don't really have anything else they could really use besides another big or Brooks...not trading AB.
Lowry won't go anywhere. Morey loves the guy. He COULD go in a package deal as you mentioned, but I think Lowry is Morey's boy, Brooks is Adelman's. Martin and Ariza, LIKELY staying, but I wouldn't mind upgrading our perimeter defense, or the passing game; get an Iggy or a G. Wallace type for D or Joe Johnson for passing (I know, good luck, hunh?) Let Aaron chuck the 3's. Jermaine T, staying unless he's a throw-in on a deal. Chase--I'd rather trade Ariza, although Ariza came around a bit with the arrival of Martin. We'd have to get a great player in a Chase deal. I say he stays. Shane? He stays at least until we re-sign Luis. If Morey's plan is to rebuild in a year IF Yao continues in his role as Mr. Glass, Shane stays for the expiring contract action. Luis? Staying of course. Unless he begs us to sign and trade him for Bosh (survey says....nope!) Jordan Hill? Very tradeable, if necessary. But wouldn't mind seeing what he'd do as a Rocket. Jared Jeffries. Better than I thought he'd be. Very tradeable. Unless? See also, Battier, Shane + expiring, 2011, rebuild, Yao's foot. Chuck--Depends on who else we get, but love the 18 mpg he can give at the 4/5. I think he stays. We need SOMEone who plays D. David Anderson--Add him to the trade package, please.
Yeah for later, I guess it may be a trade to look at. But, I just feel as though Yao will come back stronger this year and won't have to worry about that foot anymore. IF we some how do get Bosh/Stoudemire, he can be that back up to Yao incase Yao gets injured and Hill/Scola or whoever else we have at PF after we make the trade can play PF. I just think Ariza is too valuable of an asset to give up, he'll get better. The 1st round pick might be a good option to get a back up. I just don't see the need in getting Gasol just for insurance. If Yao doesn't get injured, he's not going to get many minutes. The guy is a starter right now on a pretty decent Grizzlies team and averaging almost 20-10. Here, if he rusts on the bench, he'll get worse. I know we really need a good back up, I just feel as giving up a wing like Ariza may be too much. If anything, we should give up Battier. But Battier may be used to get Bosh/Stoudemire. The younger we are, the better. It leaves a window open for more years, we need to keep our wings. Right now, as we speak, we have 5 wings. Battier, Martin, Ariza, Budinger, and Taylor. Out of those 5, I think it serves us better to trade Battier and Taylor. It's either Taylor or Ariza.
If there aren't any surprises in the Draft Lottery the Pacers are likely to get the 10th pick. The max offer for the 2010 10th pick is $2,238,360 (120% of the rookie scale). As they are, the 10th pick would place the Pacers $2 million over the projected tax. http://www.indystar.com/article/201...rs-would-consider-moving-if-deal-isn-t-struck It doesn't look too good for the Pacers if the Pistons are already cutting ticket prices for next season: http://www.nba.com/pistons/news/pistons_lower_ticket_prices_100412.html Brooks + Hill + Ariza + Jeffries (expiring) = $18,673,203 Other trade sweeteners: NY's 2011 &/or 2012 or Rockets own future picks, draft rights. Any asset that does not add to 2010-11 salary. For Granger + Foster = $17,828,202 or Granger + Ford = Pacers reduce team salary by $999k or Granger + Dunleavy = Pacers reduce team salary by $3.06M
First he cursed to refs in critical game against Efes Pilsen and sent off. Then Besiktas board fined him after his undisciplined behaviors in and out off the court. After that he went to Germany to look for a ne club to play without Besiktas's permission. I don't know the current situation but I guess Besiktas board informated FIBA about Baxter's behaviors to terminate his contract without paying any compensations etc.
He'd be a legitimate 18-10 guy, who might actually start in the beginning of the season w/ Yao coming off the bench. Remember, he used to own Yao in their head to head matchups because he was too physical with Yao. They are gonna need a replacement if Gay leaves and they have a glute at the Center spot and Ariza could be a good insurance for them. Conley/Williams Mayo/FA Ariza/Brewer Randolph/Arthur Thabeet/Haddadi
Considering Yao's progress report, and our rumored interest in Brad Miller, I still think we need that Center who can defend and rebound. Any way that we can acquire this guy? Still on a rookie contract for '10-'11 ($1.7mil), and a team option the year after ($2.6mil).
Scola+Battier+2010 Pick for Chris Bosh Throw in Budinger only if necessary. Acquire a true center to go with Yao 1.Camby 2.Haywood 3.Gortat 4.Pryzbilla My wishful trade (although unlikely) Brooks Martin Hill Knicks Picks for Chris Paul
Beats me. I'm just saying that's the kind of guy we need. If people are talking about them trading Granger, maybe they could design a deal around Hibbert instead.
Thanks for the info $56M is better than earlier projections of $54M and $51M. Not picking up Hayes option cuts the Rockets overall salary down to $58.5M. If the projected tax is $68M that's $9.5M minus the 1st rounder of salary space. If the Rockets can trade Jeffries + other or Battier/Ariza + other for less 2010-11 salary in return, perhaps the trade off being longer years, that'd help Rockets in retaining Scola and Lowry.
Please No Chris Bosh!!!!!!! please stay in canada ur WEAK <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mqF689ffyek&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mqF689ffyek&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Knicks are not getting Gay, he's a restricted FA. Hard to believe the Grizz will just let him go for nothing when they can get something in return around the deadline by trading him.
