I don't know if this is possible, but given that Miami is trying to shed some salarie to sign some role player around Wade & Bosh. Maybe we should make a run at Michael Beasley(who is more than available). I mean his value is super low right now, we could offer something like: Alexander/Harris(Non-guarenteed contracts) David Andersen for Beasley.. I think he would be worth the gamble, his only 21, I think if his put in the right situation like in a young group that includes Patterson, Hill, Budinger. He could turn his career around(which is still young). In Miami I feel he was asked to do to much, and wasn't ready to contribute. Here he would come off the bench with all the other young guy's and play his more natural position at the 3 spot. Which would give him time to develop and become one hell of an asset. Bench 2010|11 6'1 Lowry |Smith 6'7 Budinger | Taylor 6'8 *Beasley 6'9 Patterson 6'10 Hill --RB
At this point, I'm hoping we get Anthony Randolph to upgrade our 3, and Brad Miller to back-up our 5. I'd like to see Yao/Miller play the Vlade Divac role in Adelman's high-post offense. Scola/Hill/PP/Hayes at the down-low 4. Randolph/Bud/Battier at the 3. KM/JT at the 2. AB/KL at the 1. Anyway, that's what I'd like to see... Which implies Ariza, Andersen, Jeffries, Harris, and Johnson are (IMHO) our most tradeable pieces. If Morey can parley those pieces into Anthony Randolph, I'd be tickled. Randolph could wind up a disaster on the order of Eddie Griffin; I'm hoping, on our team, with Shane mentoring him, he could realize his potential-- which is "through the roof."
Bring Boozer to Houston Remember 2 seasons ago when the Rockets got Ron Ron? He brought out some fight in the rockets and turned us into a team of "pitbulls". I think that bringing in Boozer would bring back the fight on the defensive end of the court. Scola and Boozer's number are similar but I feel that Boozer brings a little more to the table: Boozer: Points Per Game- 19.5 Rebounds Per Game- 11.2 Assists Per Game- 3.2 FG%- 56.2 Scola: Points Per Game- 16.2 Rebounds Per Game- 8.6 Assists Per Game- 2.1 FG%- 51.4 Also, Boozer is younger and more athletic than Scola. I think that he would fit with the team better then Bosh would have. Best roster in the NBA PG- Brooks/Lowry SG- Martin/? SF- Ariza/Budinger PF-Boozer/Hill C- Yao/Miller
He is too injury prone, and not a great fit because of that. He should go back to Cleveland with Lebron. DD
Certainly true, though he did play 78 games last year, and has played 74 or more in 3 of the past five seasons. unfortunately for him, in the other two, it was less than 40. Still, if it was possible financially (and for a variety of reasons it isn't), I would sign and trade Scola for a sign and traded Boozer. But again, not possible, and I wouldn't use Jeffries expiring + actual assets (draft picks, whatever) to get Boozer. I'd rather wait till mid year and use Jeffries expiring to pick up an already signed player on a longer contract that a team wants to dump to get salary cap relief. Not clear who those players will be yet at the moment, but every year there are some.
we'd have to do a sign and trade, and no way utah agrees to trade boozer to one of their main rivals.
No way! Boozer is not a guy that I would ever want on my team. Everything about him (aside from the fact that he's a talented power forward) is just wrong.
Do not want. Priority list in order: All-Star, athletic F/C (6-11) (Probably out, unless Al Jefferson cuts mustard) All-Star SF (re: Granger) Sixth-Man Candidate Swingman to back up Martin (at least 6-6) Elite All -Star PG (re: Paul) At the bottom of the list: Greedy Team-Last Jazzhole PF.
You mean, besides the fact that he's 1. Very Undersized 2. Very Injury prone 3. Very expensive 4. Very not much of an upgrade over Scola 5. Very much a jazzhole 6. Very much a scumbag But disregarding all the above factors, I guess you can say we should get him.
Besides the fact that he is the scum of the NBA, I don't believe that we'd have a real shot anyway because it would take a sign and trade for us to grab him, and I think Utah is in enough financial trouble that they would not want to take back the salary to make it happen. Even if they were expiring contracts.
For the MLE, sure. He'd also have to surgically alter his stupid face so I could look at it and cheer for him. Sign and trading a guy there would be mean. You don't send those you love to Utah.
