    i'll take Okafor :)

not my money of course but he would fill in more than nicely as a back-up to Yao. he is making a lot but good centers don't come cheap.

I think it would be cheap for the rockets...I'd trhow in an extra pick and cash (hornets are needy of cash AFAIK)

Rockets has too many good role players now, several role players for 1 superstar is a greatt deal for rockets, perhaps not great deal for other team short of good role players....

I always said, Bosh frantic movement could be a great smoke courtain to get Paul, let others waste their time trying to get Bosh, and get CP3....

And CP3 is waaay better than Bosh, with less years than Bosh at NBA...in his last healthy season, he did great things with his team, with a similar supporting cast than Bosh....He made inside players look far better than they were (West, Chandler), that was noticeable when he was absent....

Now the hornetts has Collison in great shape, it's the best time to get CP3, giving him a brand-new MIP awarded player (at the peak of his trade value) and some extra sweeteners (Jeffries expiring could be another).....

Rumor has it that a CP3/Posey for Carter/Nelson trade is being discussed right now, and if that's the case definitely expect lebron james to sign with the magic. How much better could it be? Practically the re-deem team all over again for a span of a decade or so...If that happens Ill become an instant Magic's Fan!!!

if they are trying to reduce money, then replacing ariza with battier (1 yr) would be more tempting? maybe even buy out battier

I think were talking about Chris Paul here?? Have you seen what Steve Nash can do with a team like Phoenix. Take Steve out of the equation and Phx would be lucky to get close to 40 wins in a season. I don't think CP is at that level yet but very damn close.

If it take Brooks, #14 (Unknown talent), Knicks #1 next year ( Really Unknown), Hill (Just Potential nothing proven yet), Ariza ( finally because somewhat decent when Martin showed up but still makes bone headed plays)..

Then damn yes you go for it.

Seriously, bring in Cp3 would be a good thing. He has more size than AB and plays better D.

Cp3/Lowry at the point would be awesome....
    Open/Taylor
Ariza/Bud - Ariza is a slasher and bud is good off screens
    Scola/Hill -
YAO/Okafor/Chuck - good shot blocking ablitliy now

I think that is a solid team here...
But we wont have a lot of assets anymore with this trade.

Translation: owner threatens lousy trade in order to speed up stalled sale of team.

Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

CP3 doesn't do well in the half-court setting. He's like Brooks, he won't be AS good if you have a slower center AKA Yao Ming in the game at the same time.

And then giving up Brooks and Martin? That is way too much. Why not pull apart the entire team for a superstar?

you don't think we're running next year?

Coach has already said that this offense is fast breaking regardless when Yao comes back. Yao will become a trailer. When other teams miss Ariza, Martin and Scola will be running down the court and Paul will get them buckets.

Have you seen CP3 at all? He great in any offense. Comparing him to Brooks in any way earns you a....

    FAIL!

If you think about it... it may not be that great of a trade for us. We would have to give up a lot which would include our #1 pick for this year, and more than likely the next, plus the NY pick). This trade would leave us VERY THIN on the front line.. there's not that many good FA Centers available.

We could make a run at CP3 and Emeka, but salaries are gonna be very difficult to match and would likely need to include a 3rd team.

Unless we make a sign n trade deal with Toronto, include New Orleans in the trade.. and we get Bosh and CP3..

    Rockets get: CP3 and Bosh
Toronto get: David West, Emeka, K. Martin fillers
New Orleans get: Battier (expiring), Brooks (cheap labor), C-Bud (cheap labor), fillers(picks from rockets?)

Of course if this happens, i'll be waking from a fantasy of having Yao, Bosh, and CP3 on the same team...

Starting 5 could look like this:

    CP3
    J. Taylor/or FA signing (we'd be running pretty thin at the 2-guard spot)
    Ariza
    Bosh
    Yao

    GET THIS DONE MOREY!!!!

    LOL...

I dont think its completely out of question... you speak to Bosh and tell him that we're pursuing CP3, all we need to complete this deal is a 3rd team..which could be Toronto...You play with 2 other proven All-Stars and can compete for a Championship Instantly!

I guess it would also kinda boil down to who Bosh would wanna play with...Wade, Lebron, or CP3 n Yao...

I would not mind this happening, but our priorty has got to be getting another big man that can score and defend.

If we somehow draft Cousins or Whiteside, maybe we can somehow swing a deal for Paul as well.
