he`s worth a lot to a team in need of a legitimate starting PG. for us, not as much IMO as we already have AB, and if signed Lowry. i agree with you.
im sorry. and say what you want but i still think that the person to fill in our hole at backup sg position is either a) rudy fernandez or b) mike miller. and i honestly think we can sign shaq to vet minimum, and call him the big rocket? thats the only nickname i can think of. (shaq to houston is only if we dont get bosh) we can trade up in the draft by giving up battier+jeffries or something around those lines... plus the draft pick. brooks/lowry martin/miller or fernandez ariza/budinger scola/hill yao/shaq this is a pretty legit lineup. when facing l.a or boston we have the two twin tower, well n0t so much as twin, but you get it. and when we need to play small for pheonix or something we can go with brooks martin ariza scola hill that would work as our small lineup, if needed you can move ariza to pf to play stoudamire and put budinger as sf we would have shooters all over the place so they wont have to double yao or shaq inside with brooks, budinger, martin, miller or fernandez and yes on those rare nights ariza. the only problem i see if defense. yes i realize that but still. we would easily be contenders for a championship. way better bench than l.a. im mean i dont see any major flaws here.
There is a rumor on the Wolves board that on the ESPN radio it was reported that there are discussions of a Al Jefferson + #4 for #2 and Dalembert (not Brand!). Not sure if this is legit though. Here is the post from the board. Again there is no printed source so take this with a grain of salt. This is the trade idea thread so I though I'd post this here until there is some confirmation. My question here is, does Morey jump all over this one if true?
The reason Morey was gunning for the 3rd and 4th picks rather the 2nd pick was because of the Sixers' insistence that Brand must be packaged with the pick. If its true that Brand isn't involved in the Minny deal then why doesn't Morey try to explore a deal?
Rumor has already been shot down by a Wolves insider. Sigh and here I was hoping that the Rockets had some hope of landing Turner.
Still think that instead of a low post scorer, we need a defensive presence that will crash the boards but can still take it to the rack IE Boozer. Hes an upgrade for Scola and with our jump shooting wings would be a great compliment to Yao. Scola would move to the bench and you run hill at the 5. The team I would like to see Brooks/Lowry Martin/Bud/Taylor Ariza/Battier/Jefferies Boozer/Scola/Hayes Yao/Hill(he is tall enough to run the 5 just needs to add a few lbs)
This is from a ESPN Insider article from today talking about Bosh to the Lakers! Doesn't give us much of a chance! Bosh's new home? * Chicago. The Bulls desperately need a scorer, be it a shooting guard or power forward, so Bosh figures to hear from the Bulls. It's been reported he could follow LeBron James to Chicago. * New York. The Knicks will have room for two max free agents, and he could pair with LeBron James in the Big Apple. * Miami Dwyane Wade is looking for a big-man running mate, but that also could be Amare Stoudemire or Carlos Boozer. * Los Angeles Lakers. Andrew Bynum could be sent back in a sign-and-trade, something that was rumored at the trade deadline. Bosh also sat courtside at a Lakers playoff game this postseason. * Toronto. The Raptors are reportedly on Bosh's list, but it's unlikely he'll return to the team next season. * New Jersey, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston, Dallas and Oklahoma City. All teams with either money for a max free agent or available sign-and-trade chips, but none figures to be in the mix.
I really want to come away from this draft with Cousins. There is a lot of guys I like, but I think we need to aim as high as we can. Cousins slipping to 3 or 4 is the best opportunity we will get. I would throw a lot at it. #14+2012 first rounder+Chase Budinger+Jermaine Taylor is expensive but I would do it in a heartbeat. We can find someone to fill CBs role, even if they dont have the potential. I think i would keep Hill over Cbud.
I would rather add a guy who can also play Power Forward alongside Yao or else draft lower and get more value out of the pick for a backup Center. Does Cousins have the quickness to play Power Forward? What's the point of drafting at #3 or #4 for a backup who is only going to play 20-30 minutes MAX on a team whose best player plays the same position as him? Even if Cousins reaches his potential (which I think is unlikely, just too many personality issues) we would have to trade Yao away for fifty cents on the dollar to balance out the roster.
