Doubt it. Word is that the Blazers/Wolves are pursuing a deal for Rudy. Would love Fernandez on the Rockets though.
Yeah, I think even at that point in the post he was still talking about a Sign and Trade. Doesn't matter either way. Let's say LeBron wants to go to Houston, do you think Cleveland would pass on a Buddinger, Hill, and 2 NY first round pick offer? You just said they're starving for young talent. That's 4 young players right there. You think they would rather just give him the finger? Obviously this is a pipe dream. But saying that it does get to that point, I doubt Morey will let Cleveland, who wouldn't have a lot of options, abuse him. Just like with NY he'd play hardball till he got the offer that he wants, and I doubt that means swapping Brooks for Mo Williams. I'm more talking about the back up PF and C positoins thrown in with questoin marks around Yao. James is a SF who can play some minutes at the 4, but he hardly solves all thos problems.
I still don't understand why there going for all these wings, all that team has is point guards, 3's, and 4's.
Why not? I don't see that as a "can't miss" offer. In fact, I don't think it can even be considered an offer when it comes to Lebron. 30 mil cap space could very well be worth more than that. Nothing would be considered a legit offer without a young all star level player involved if I'm the owner. Cleveland had suffered from rebuilding process long enough to realize young prospects can mean nothing compare to star players.
here's some info to know more about Luis. His performance in 2004 Olympics. http://www.eba-stats.com/form/estaten2004.pdf 2008 Olympics http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fe/08.../22714/roundid/6450/fe_teamPlay_playStat.html Start talking to me when David Lee gets the chance to play for Team America.
Luis Scola isn't a US citizen and doesn't have to compete with the likes of Carlos Boozer, Bosh, and Dwight Howard to get on the US national team, unlike most other countries, being an NBA player usually doesn't gurantee a spot on the olympic team.
If,If james said he might consider houston, wouldn't houston have to give up the ship? I mean, wouldn't they have to give up basically anything cleveland asked for?
Furthermore: As with the 2006 Worlds and 2008 Olympics, Colangelo is asking for a multi-year commitment from players. On February 10, 2010, the preliminary roster was announced. [23] Player Team LaMarcus Aldridge Portland Trail Blazers Carmelo Anthony Denver Nuggets Chris Bosh Toronto Raptors Kobe Bryant Los Angeles Lakers Chauncey Billups Denver Nuggets Carlos Boozer Utah Jazz Kevin Durant Oklahoma City Thunder Rudy Gay Memphis Grizzlies Eric Gordon Los Angeles Clippers Danny Granger Indiana Pacers Dwight Howard Orlando Magic Andre Iguodala Philadelphia 76ers LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers Al Jefferson Minnesota Timberwolves David Lee New York Knicks Brook Lopez New Jersey Nets Kevin Love Minnesota Timberwolves O.J. Mayo Memphis Grizzlies Lamar Odom Los Angeles Lakers Chris Paul New Orleans Hornets Kendrick Perkins Boston Celtics Derrick Rose Chicago Bulls Tayshaun Prince Detroit Pistons Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Tyreke Evans Sacramento Kings Amare Stoudemire Phoenix Suns Dwyane Wade Miami Heat Gerald Wallace Charlotte Bobcats Russell Westbrook Oklahoma City Thunder Deron Williams Utah Jazz Players from among that roster will represent the United States in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and 2012 Olympics
I think the bottom line is that we agree that Lee may not be a huge upgrade over Scola, but the thing that moes is taking exception to is the fact that everyone is discounting Lee's skills.
Thats cool, but i see him as a wing player. Fernandez is a wing player also. He is just as capapble defensding wings as fernandez is. The 2 positions are pretty much interchangeable. Pierce and allen are both wings. Now we can say allen is sg and pierce is the sf, but they can switch and guard each other man.
All of this isn't a bad debate, but we're re-signing Scola, and, unless he's o.k. with going to Toronto, I don't think we'll be trading him. At least not anytime soon. Seems the thing to do is draft or trade for a young big who can improve over the next few years, getting, say, 15 mpg at first. How quickly he catches on will determine what you do with the rest of the bigs (trade, reduce their minutes) that we have after the draft and after any trades in the near future. Plus, why put together any sort of deal for Lee where we diminish the value of what NY owes us (2012) and potentially owes us (2011)?
Fernandez is a better passer and ball handler then Chase is. There shooting and athleticism is a wash in my opinion. Rudy is a 2 not a three and Chase is more of 3 and not a 2. We dont have a legitimate backup 2 guard. Taylor is still in the to good for the dleague but not consistent enough to be a nba rotation player bubble. And as others have all ready stated chase does not have lateral quickness to stay in-front of nba 2 guards. I think Rudy would be a good fit here but our off season priorities are front court help and a third point guard who does not suck.
wouldnt that be giving to much?giving away a good wing player in rudy fernandize and a 22nd pick just to get down 6 picks?
I will get confused attempting to understand your rationale here. So because David Lee hasn't led Team USA to a Gold Medal, he is inferior to Scola Your logic is shaky at best.
