I like you're breakdown, but there is a breakdown. The bulls could sign him outright without giving up anyone. The thunder could do the same for the most part. The spurs don't have to offer parker, they could offer jefferson and splitter and probably get the job done.
I don't see Bosh walking away from a better contract, so all signs seem pointed towards a sign & trade, of which I think the Rockets are superbly positioned. Honestly, if it doesn't happen, I think it will be because Morey has something better cooked up.
I disagree. Collison is a good defender and floor general with a lot of upside. DraftExpress says that Collison is a "strong defender." His FG% was almost 48 this (rookie) season. He's a "true" PG. Brooks is a talented offensive player, but is short, limited defensively, and not a very good ball distributor. We should trade him while his stock is high.
I don't think he will go away without helping his former team. Seems like a fair loyal guy. This is why I talk about s&t's.
How about Battier + Anderson + Hill + 14th pick for Al Jefferson + 23rd pick? Rockets after trade: Brooks/Lowry Martin/Taylor or FA Ariza/Budinger Jefferson/Scola/Jeffries Yao/Jefferson/Brad Miller?/Hayes excluding 23rd pick Wolves after trade Flynn/Sessions Brewer/Ellington Battier/Gomes/Wilkins Love/Hollins/Anderson Hill/Milicic/Anderson exluding their own possibly top 3 pick and our 14th pick What you guys think?
I wouldn't bank on Jefferson, he hasn't been so good this year after coming off that injury and his defense is lackluster. And I'm a Wolves fan.
He's not injury prone like others have been saying. In the past 6 seasons, he's played 407 games out of 492. Last season granted he played only 50 games because of injury, but this year he has played 76 games. He only missed 6 games this season. Also, his defense would be improved with working with Dawson and Sikma. He is also supposedly training with Hakeem this offseason to work on his post moves and defense. He has been putting of 17ppg and 10 rpg. Thats solid considering he was not used to Rambis' complicating triangle offense. Giving up Battier would hurt, but having another 17 and 10 big man would be awesome! Imagine a frontline trio of Yao-Jefferson-Scola! That would manhandle the league!
Here are some players the Rockets drafted that are unheard from: Maarty Leunen Malick Badiane Brad Newley Sergio Lull Tito Maddox Luis Flores Lior Eliyahu Is Lull the only one worth bringing over?
I think so. Eliyahu had at the time potential at the SF position, but in Europe has been formed as PF and I don't think he could be a PF in NBA. Leunen, I think he simply doesn't have the level (in that profile, Bonner is a much better player, e.g.). And Newley could have more chances, but it's maybe too late to expect significant improvements from him; more was expected. I think all of them could have improved more playing in the ACB League, but...
