Blair with a ridiculously impressive block... and every ****ing player on the Spurs team just sat and stared at it, waiting for it to come down. Not a single player made the slightest of efforts to chase it down. The ensuing layup killed any momentum. Just way too many lapses to beat an offensive machine in their place.
Ironic post considering it's the Suns who have been flopping in this game. The Spurs need to get either game 1 or game 2, I don't believe PHX can win here in SA... so if they can snatch a game in Phoenix, they'll be in control of this series.
The Spurs just won't die. The Suns would have no chance at all of beating the Lakers. This game just drills that point home, whoever wins.
Bogans has made repeated mistakes in the last 3 minutes and has been hurting the Spurs momentum. Good to see him taken out.
And you're assuming Nash would just end up leading the league in scoring? One of the reasons why Nash gets so open is because of his passing threat, if that goes away... he's not going to get any open looks. Aaron Brooks has a better chance of leading the league in scoring than Nash... regardless of if Nash focused on scoring or not.
Only fitting for this game to end on another Spurs miss on an uncontested layup. Just way too many unforced and undisciplined errors.
This is why I think the Spurs can take game 2. They won't be missing those same layups again, you can expect the Spurs to make some defensive adjustments also. This game should give them some confidence that even though they didn't play well at all in one half, they still had a chance to win. I could see Parker starting in game 2.
Spurs need to stop one of the three: Nash, Amare, or Richardson. If they let all three go off, it will be very hard for them. I expect Popovich to target Richardson starting next game.
