Why would spurs even try to catch up with suns. They won't run, they will just try to not let suns run. I think Spurs are really good at controlling the tempo. 100+ games will likely belong to suns less than 100 = spurs. Watch out for 3rd and 4th quarter, when spurs will increase defensive intensity and make those two quarters low scoring (hopefully) Yes, suns are more athletic. However, spurs have a lot of experience.. championship experience. All ESPN guys were talking about that there is no body playing than spurs in playoffs so far.Spurs take this series in 6.
SA will be fine... they're pretty much reading how the Suns are going to play them and then adjusting on the fly... Look to see some defensive adjustments at halftime by the Spurs.

They are not defending much right now. 2nd half should be different. However, they are not down because of defense! They are sucking at offensive end right now. Only 36% Nash himself is carrying suns right now.. 8-12 shooting -- 19 points.
They're playing fine defensively, I think - the first three minutes notwithstanding. The problem is Duncan and McDyess shooting 33% and 20%, respectively, with at least half of the shots coming within 3 feet of the basket. SA bigs absolutely have to finish better...
PHX shooting 60% is bad for SA defense, but most of it has to do with Nash being hot. Rest of suns have not played that good. How can you shoot only 38% against phoenix defense? That has to go up for SA.
When did the Spurs team as whole run? They're still a good transition defense team... I honestly think Duncan is struggling because of the knee, he's missing point blank layups... making the Suns D look good. McDyess isn't really looked up to produce offense, but he should be hitting open shots. They also need to start hitting some more 3's. Mason came in the game... didn't even take a shot.
Yeah, I just hope the Spurs slow this game down. In the long haul of this half, it'll favor the Suns...
Man Spurs look like their clicking. Nice and calm. I predicted them to win it all and stuck with em while they struggled. Not bailing on em now.
