There's no way those perennial playoff buts would get past the Lakers. When your "big man" gets out rebounded in the playoffs by the opposing team's PG, there is zero chance.

First of all, fire Jim Carrey.

He's maintaining his team all the game, nobody can do what you ask him (48 minutes) in playoffs, maybe 1-2 players, does that mean that there are only 2 players who can be legitimate 1st options? Without Dirk this is a blowout today, and with Dirk they played a finals, he's a winner.

What Dallas needs is to play better basketball. It's a shame what they do offensively with that roster, a shame.

Plus Spurs match them up very well. If us, even w/ Yao, we don't match the Mavs that well.

Nah, I love the guy. But he does look like the 1933 stop-action version of King Kong. Same eyes.

I dont put all the blame on him, but watch the last few mins. of tonights game and see how many times did he attack the basket. Even when they had smaller players guarding him he went for a tough fade away type shot.

Everyone knows it takes NO energy to bring back your team from 20+ points (with Roddy's help of course) against one of the toughest defensive teams in the league. Being a robotic creation of Nazi Germany, Dirk's obviously immune to fatigue.

Dirk was the best player in the series. The mavs lost (again) in the playoffs because of poor rotations by their coach and role players disappearing (again). If having a playoff career scoring average of over 25 or 26 pts per game isn't indicative of a 1st option kind of player, I'm not sure what is. Those being incredibly efficient points, by the way.

^ Everything this guy said. To blame the loss on Dirk is silly, he was easily the best player in the series.

Keeping them in the game is not enough. He needs to take over when the game is on the line.

If he had done that in the Finals, he would have won a championship.

He is not a bad player. He is an excellent player. He is just not somoene you would want to lead you to championship. If you do, then you need to stack up that team. Every spot would need to be talented. This is what Cuban is learning.

BTW, we have only talked about his offense. Remember he does not even play defense like a 7 footer should.

I think the Spurs have a much better chance of beating LA and Cleveland/Orlando than Dallas did.

If Cuban hadn't been so cheap and dumb, maybe they would have a better team.

He waived Finley to save luxury tax money, and signed Doug Christie, 4 days later. Whoops!

Then, he chose to keep Dampier over Nash. Whoops!

Strange, it seems like Mavs fans say this about Dirk every year...
When do you start wondering if Dirk has something to do with this? Yeah he puts up good numbers, and he had a great team during the year, but when the game is on the line his team fails...

6FT attempts? 5 Rebounds? A mobile 7footer in a game of this magnitude? Yeah he scored well...but basketball isn't a jump shooting contest.

His aversion to the paint is why you guys fail and will continue to fail regardless of how many excuses you can come up with...
