Puhleaze. The 1st half was reffed in the way the Spurs love. The Mavs have more of a gripe at officiating but I hope they know better than to do so. Both teams should stfu and play.
Duncan on offense has not been good at all last couple of games. If he had, this series would have long been over.
The spurs better shoot like 60% in the 4th it looks like the refs will not help their case at all. The calls the mavs got were terrible.
holy crap, what happened. i just checked the score expecting to see the epic beating continuing and it says 61-59. of course i turn the game on and nothing goes right from that point forward. the mavs steal the ball and have a breakaway layup to tie it and somehow the ball lands just where kidd has to fall on it and kidd screws up and can't get anything on the throw and it just leads to spurs free throws. then dirk throws it away and duncan gets away with a ridiculous goaltending and then another layup for parker. i guess i shouldn't watch. i've got about a -27 plus/minus tonight.
I had a feeling the Mavs would rally in the 3rd. The Spurs just aren't great in the 3rd quarter... defense isn't going to hold up forever if you can't score, especially from the FT line. Interesting 4th quarter, Dirk still has 4... if Ginobili does what he did in game 4.. they will prevail. That french kid has been killing the Spurs though.
Mavs will have fresher legs. Duncan does not have his offense right. It will be up to Manu and Parker to drive and put a lot of pressure on Mavs defense. I am not sure if they will have energy to do it the entire quarter.
unless he's getting fed layups by the perimeter players, either on PnR's or off penetration, when is duncan ever that good on offense against guys 6'8 or taller? even pau gasol held him in the low 40's in shooting a few years ago, coming off a series where he shot in the low 40's against tyson chandler. and this was pretty much all single coverage.
