Manu is one of the best floppers in the game.

But he is also one of the greatest competitors I have watched.

    Lots of respect for Manu.

Throw in the "those guys give 110%" and the popular "anything can happen" and the world would have collapse under the cliche-filled statement.

I must say I didn't expect Manu to come back, let alone will them to victory.
Game 4 is pivotal. If the Mavs win,it will be very difficult for the Spurs to clinch the series.

Why didn't Caron Butler play in the 2nd half?

Maybe I'm off track, but it seemed to me the Spurs were running on fumes with about 3 mins left in the game. They were ready to go down but the Mavs weren't able to step up and take the game.

Spurs weren't really running on fumes. It had more to do with Mavs defense which has improved this year. Still, Manu and Parker made big plays when it counted.

Also, Spurs stepped up the defense in the last couple of minutes. They doubled Dirk aggressively which disrupted the Mavs offense.

I am a little surprised Pops isn't going to an aggressive double team on Dirk from the blind side most of the game. Dirk is not very good at handling those and usually results in a turnover. Otoh, When he has single coverage with a smaller guy on him, like he has most of the series, he measures them up and makes most of his shots.

Hey Rick Carlisle, just because the Spurs run a 3 guard combo, doesn't mean you have to.

Give that loss to the coach Mav fans. How does Barea get 32 minutes while Butler gets 15? I can't wrap my mind around it. Especially on defense late in the game! Parker easily made both jumpers over the little guy.

The deepest bench in the league and you play 5 guys for 2 whole quarters??

I'm confident that a simple substitution of either Marion or Butler, who are both known for their defense, would have changed the outcome of that game.

and now where are all the people saying Manu is too old and stuff, and not wanting them in the rockets??

I would love to see him here, but too bad he already signed a new contract with the spurs.

Dirk's elbow knocks Landry's teeth out ... foul on Landry. Dirk's elbow breaks Manu's nose ... foul on Manu. I hate Dirk's elbows.

i didn't get that impression, and certainly not from the two most important guys on offense, parker and ginobili. if anything, with manu's injury and parker coming off the bench, they should have been fresh. kidd played over 40 minutes and barea didn't come off the court the whole 2nd half i don't think. the game turned when the refs handed the spurs 3 points on that bonner charge.

maybe he could have rested someone for a few minutes, but it's not like either of those guys did crap in this game. i don't think either was on the court for that 17-0 run in the 3rd that brought the mavs out of their game and a half long funk.

    Wondering the same.

The Spurs have this series in their command now. I see them winning a tough game 4. Dallas winning game 5 in their building and then SA closing them out here in SA in game 6. I think there's a little vengeance factor from last years Spurs. They weren't playing their best basketball in the playoffs last year and lost in the first round for the first time in 11 years. It seems to be the opposite picture now with Dallas struggling and the Spurs playing good ball.

I thought Manu was going to decline after all his injuries, but he's definitely still at his prime when healthy. Top 3 SG in the league.

I don't think anyone's echoed that thought since the allstar break. Manu's been a force but 3 years 39M is a bit much.

I watched most of the game and I for the life of me could not understand why the Mavs would not attack the basket. For all the build-up that the Mavs have done, they didn't get a slasher. Oh, they traded away Josh Howard.

Carlisle should have trusted Carn Butler down the stretch. Barea was tired already from playing since the 2nd quarter.

The Mavs spend above the salary cap but they still can't advance past the first round with their play. I'm glad we have Morey as our GM.

I agree. He'll be in decline soon. Maybe around 10M a year would be fine.

Scola would not get 10M a year from us. Maybe more like 7-8M. Morey will let him walk, I think, for any amount above that.
