This series is a win win. Both teams are equally detestable, and so either of them losing will satisfy me.
Robin Lopez will be back, right? If he is back his size can help the Suns match LA's size. This one will be tougher than people think. Phoenix is getting stronger every game. I still have to say LA in 7, unfortunately.
Hollinger, Stein and Sheridan of ESPN all have Suns winning. I think that if that Lopez kid can come back at full strength, they might pull of an upset. Nash>Fisher Richardson<Bryant Hill<Artest Amare=Gasol Frye<Bynum I think if they start Frye, he might present a match-up problem for Bynum. He's gonna force Bynum to guard him on the perimeter and Bynum isn't known for his perimeter defense.
i think the lakers in 6 but if the suns can win one of the first two watch out a lot will ride on the suns bench barbosa and dragic need to play very well, thats the one thing the suns have heavily in their favor is their superior bench and they need to exploit it. If Amare can get Gasol in early foul trouble than the suns can make it a series, but I dont see how the Lakers wont win this one.
Honestly the Lakers should dominate them if they just take advantage of their obvious mismatches. However, here's to hoping....
Again, I don't know why people keep bringing this up. Just because Bynum starts now doesn't mean he will for the series. If it becomes a problem for the Lakers, he can easily come off the bench and then they can start Lamar Odom and he can be guarding Frye. They can bring Bynum off the bench then. If they go with the normal rotation which they are doing, it won't even be a problem. Odom will come in when Frye comes in, Bynum usually subs for Odom. I don't see how Lopez can really stop Bynum from getting his usual when he has done so against him in the regular season. The one game that Lopez didn't play earlier in the season, Bynum had 26 and 15 with 3 blocks. I also don't see how Lopez will just be able to start playing and also be effective at the same time. He hasn't played in nearly 2 months now..
I'll be rooting for Nash and Hill to do something special. I never expected this out of Phoenix, so I won't even try to guess what happens this series. Amare seems to think he's the man or should be the man, a franchise player, etc. Now more than ever is the time to prove it.
I am a fan of Hill and have a lot of respect for Nash's game, but Nash was a Maverick for 6 seasons ( ). And he needs to play defense, but man can he run an offense. Thing of beauty. As for the Lakers, I don't get all the hate for them. Is it b/c they are the top dogs or what? The only thing to not like about the Lakers is that they are a bunch of whiners and complainers and go to the refs after every play. Beyond that, I don't get the hate for them. The Celtics and KG's jackass antics should garner more hate than the Lakers.
Bynum will average 15 mins per game in this series. He is showing every signs of being a complete bust but everyone says he's not good because he is injured etc. Every year same *****. He plays 10 good games with a great team in the regular season then getting injured before the playoffs and showing signs of Olowokandi in the playoffs. I hope Suns win this series. They don't need to stop Kobe. Just don't make him be a team player. Let Kobe shoot and try to takeover game. Defend Gasol&Odom and let Steve Nash do his thang.
So many years past, the different Suns team finally have a chance to dethrone the defending champion out West, and undoubtedly this is the best Suns team ever compared to D'Antoni's, playing the combination of tremendous defense and up-tempo PnR offense. I'll take the Suns in 7, LAL gone fishin'...
If they keep Dud and Hill on Kobe 1:1 this series, they're in trouble. Defend Gasol and Odom? OK. Let Steve Nash do his thang? OK. This sounds like Mike Brown's strategy if he were Phx's coach.
LOL at Lopez coming back after a month off and being expected to do anything. We saw Kirilenko really kick ass from his layoff this year and Bynum and Jameer the previous year and Ariza the year before that. He's likely not going to get back to the level of his teammates w/ the snap of a finger. Lol @ Amare = Gasol. Your last argument is the only one I actually agree with. That's what they'll want to do, but you also make yourself a team with a jumpshooting C. Over 7 games, that's to your detriment unless you have Dirk out there.
You obviously don't watch enough "Faker" games if you haven't heard that Amare has problems scoring over Bynum standing still with his arms up, nor with Gasol in there at the same time as Bynum. He's too short.
I must admit, the Suns are a much better team than I thought. In fact, I had the Spurs winning the championship over the Celtics. I don't know if it's the play of Grant Hill, Channing Frye's three-point shooting or the scrappy Suns' bench, but I am going take the Suns over the Lakers.
