Celts - Cavs are interesting, sure, but I also feel like PHX - SA could go 7 games as well. Wow, Lakers and Magic are going to get so much rest. The Magic are going to have so much time to look at tapes of their ECF and probable WC opponents.
This! You'd think human beings would grow at the same rate, if not into taller people. I mean, I understand if unskilled big men didn't get drafted into the NBA, but there's rarely big men in college these days. This is why Thabeet, Oden, etc. get drafted early.
pau has been their best player so far in the playoffs. if he had the balls to shoot more (he knows it's kobe's show), he would easily average 25+ and 12+. the lakers' big men on both ends is the main reason the lakers will win this year. kobe can afford 2-3 C level games in every series and the lakers woud probably still win (except for the finals of course)
The Jazz do not play that type of style, that's why they are down 2-0. I know people cling to the size argument, but good defense and a little physical play can slow them down, just look at what the Rockets and Nuggets did to them last year or look at how Celtics and Cavs match up against them. They'd be a good duo in the 90s, but certainly not the best or even top 5. They'd would have to play against real centers. Patrick Ewing/Anthony Mason/Charles Oakley Hakeem Olajuwon/Otis Thorpe/ Robert Horry (Carl Herrera) Dikembe Mutombo/Christian Laettner David Robinson/Dennis Rodman (Tim Duncan) Mark Eaton/Karl Malone Luc Longley/Dennis Rodman or Bill Cartwright/Horace Grant Shaquille O'Neal/Horace Grant or Shaquille O'Neal/Elden Campbell Brad Daugherty/Hot Rod Williams/Larry Nance Kevin Willis/Danny Manning/ Jon Koncak Rik Smits/Dale Davis/Antonio Davis Here's the one thing about the prospect of getting Bosh (though I do not think deal is likely), Yao/Bosh would be a more talented duo than Bynum/Gasol. Yao > Bynum, by 10 miles, and Bosh > Gasol, by a couple inches (better career numbers). I really do not think it is as hard to take them out of the game (as people make it out to be), if you have talent front line or enough big men on your roster to guard them.
Pau can't get that many shots off. He's pretty good 1on1 player, but that's not his strength. He scores better coming off weak side. If you force him to press every time like Kobe, he's gonna run out of gas and his shooting % will go down quickly.
With any luck maybe we'll be the next Western Conference team to add an elite big man and go from low-40's to the NBA Finals.
Since the injured Rockets took a better Lakers team to 7 games last season (something no other team in the league has done) I conclude that the Rockets have been cheated ever single time they played the Jazz. Also, the Rockets are much better than every team in the NBA except the Lakers and the Magic. Even against those two teams in a seven game series it can go either way.
Lakers with twice as much turnovers and way worse 3pt shooting but still able to win.... i smell sweep or 4-1
How does that mean the Rockets were cheated? In the playoffs it is all about matchups and Utah was the worst possible matchup for the Rockets with Yao.
Okur is out. Yeah I know Okur and Bynum played last year but guess what The Lakers are better than the Rockets.
Guess what, the Lakers have lost every time they've faced a fully healthy Rockets squad over the last 6 years.
Next season. Patience will pay off. To those who think the Mavs would have beat the Lakers, who do they have to stop Kobe? Manu tore it up against the Mavs, imagine what Kobe would have done. The same applies to Utah.
In the regular season. By using the fully healthy logic you would also have to go look at everyone's roster to judge whether we faced them fully healthy. That logic is pretty pointless.
I like CJ Miles for the Jazz. I think it would be cool to see Miles possibly play for the Rockets at some point. Miles is still getting better. I like his potential.
