Laker's strengths are their bigs, not Kobe as has been discussed here. If the Boston bigs get all fouled out, then they're in trouble to a far greater degree than if the Lakers lost Kobe. An example would be Shelden Williams almost single-handedly giving up the Celtics lead, because the Celtics were forced to play them because he sucked. The point is ultimately, it's a close series, and the Celtics definitely don't have any reason to go back to Boston pissed off at themselves, just as the Lakers can easily bounce right back. Anyone who claims to know with certainty who's going to win this is a fool, in the end.
Ray played only 27 minutes in game 1, on many a touch foul. Odom averages 4 fouls a game this playoffs and is more inclined to foul trouble. Celtics have been getting the short end of the stick as far as guys getting in foul trouble. Shelden Williams seeing the court is an obvious sign of that.
It doesn't matter because they lost. I never understand why people think a team should feel happy for themselves after they lost a game because certain players didn't play like they normally play. In this series you can say the same for both sides so I really don't understand it.
If thats the case then why didn't the bigs put the game away when 1) they had KG in foul trouble and had had C's backups to against in the 3rd 2) With Kobe out, they can be the focal point of the offense. Get real, the Laker bigs are an essential part of the Laker winning combination but they're not the biggest, Kobe is and last night proved just that. And btw who made Shelden Williams pay for at the end of the half for his brain fart? Kobe
Yea but the Lakers never got to play "their game" in any long stretch of game 2. Would you agree that in game 1 Lakers held control of the game without looking at hte scoreboard? Same goes here the Lakers didnt' play their game and yet were in it through the end of the game.
Celtics played bad as well. They both played pretty ****ty in fact, Your logic is backwards. Celtics have yet to play "their" game and are going into Boston 1-1...
1. Because they never got the ball. 2. Agree to disagree. Will point out that what did every single contending team this year do to challenge the Lakers? They got bigs. Cleveland got Shaq. Celtics got Sheed. Dallas tried to get Gortat and later got Haywood. Orlando retained Gortat for a ridiculous amount given how much he's playing. If Kobe was the real threat, more teams would have driven for a perimeter defender like Ariza, and out of the contenders, only Cleveland made any effort. +1. Neither team really is in that much of a pinch as of now, and no one knows who's going to win the series even now. Tomorrow will be great.

All those teams already have productive guards(LBJ, Vince, Dallas is just fail, Allen/Pierce) , no point in getting more. Regardless I wouldn't call getting sheed, shaq, and gortat much of a "step-up."
Lakers have won in their last 2 trips to Boston. 1st time Ariza played 10 minutes with Luke Walton starting and no Bynum. Feelin good going into tomorrow's game
Lol, when the lakers lose, the lakers didnt want to win it, so they didnt play hard and didnt play according to their game. The Celtics game never played their game in game 1, rondo, allen didnt play well in game 1. in game 2, garnett and pierce (two of their best players) didnt have a good game and yet they still win.
Yeah, but for every moronic act of the court, he manages to whip up another equally ridiculous act of dumb luck.
