This playoffs just continues to establish Kobe and one of the game's all-time great players. It's been a constant demonstration of clutchness on his part. Something truly amazing to admire. People used to ask who would be the next Michael Jordan. The answer is clearly Kobe Byrant. The only question will be is if Kobe is considered greater than the greatest someday.
Hah, good one. Kobe hasn't even been the best player in the NBA for a single year, much less a whole career. Chucker on offense, overrated on defense, not even a good interview. He's the whole package!
Gasol playing out of his mind helped him a lot during this play offs to get rest. Otherwise I don't see it. He's aged so far. Still a clutch player. That I give him.
Guys are forgetting about times when the Lakers were hovering about 40 wins and being mediocre. Having Odom, Kwame, Smush, and before that Caron. Kobe was way more athletic and clutch. He was frustrated at the end of the day. Man that were 2-3 seasons of his career. The time when he wanted to prove himself without O'Neal and O'Neal winning that ship, although lucky, with Wade as the captain didn't help either.
TMac, Okur, and AK47? C'mon, I've read your posts, you're better than that. Haha. TMac, seriously? When was the last time that guy even played, period?
You're making solid arguments, but I was laughing at the kid who said the 13 assist gm was showboating. At that point, you gotta concede you're wasting your time going back and forth with a troll. You aren't getting intellectual honesty in return for your work, unfortunately. Good job, though.
That being said it underscored the difference between LBJ23 and KB24. During the Phx series he looked to score more in the other 5 games, with his 30 pts showings and had only one game with 22 and 13. The way he did it was on purpose. He was clearly showing off with his passing. The point is he can distribute but he's not a natural disher like Lebron. I did not want to take away any accomplishments. He's the better player right now but he's aging as well.
Lakers fans make my blood boil. I hope the Celtics step it up tonight and avoid any foul trouble early on.
Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers Line: Lakers by 6. Pretty much the same analysis... Kobe Bryant's covering Rajon Rondo; Ron Artest is shutting down Paul Pierce; and Pau Gasol is debacling Kevin Garnett. I don't see how the Celtics can score in the 90s. NBA Pick: Lakers -6 (1 Unit)
Mo Williams was an all-star reserve, and he has dissapeared in the last two postseasons. Yet this is LeBron's best teammate. Yes Z was an all-star. Michael Finley was great at one time too. None of the players you are listing are stars, and you wouldn't take any of them over Gasol, Bynum, Odom and probably not even Artest. So please save the he has enough help garbage. Kobe clearly has more.
Not having your auality bigs kinda hurts when you play LA, especially ones that can draw dudes away from the paint. The same goes for Houston (when we lost Yao).
no quick fix for Lebron. I'll $1235872398573258932157325123542343 dollars that w/e Lebron ends up, that team will not win the Finals next season. takers? Please save post to yalls hard drive.
did yall hear them ask Kobe about Lebron and where he was going, to new york or where? Kobe said "in a polite way i don't give a **** where he goes" and he went on to say idc about dwade going anywhere either haha.
I repped your post. Regarding his teammates, I can't get past them having the best record in the league two years in a row. I'm sorry, but that's an indicator of a good team. When everyone is predicting you to win a series, and you have homecourt advantage (I don't think Jordan ever lost a series with HCA), I think you have a good team and to say afterwards that you really weren't a good team is pretty weak. Maybe they don't have many studs individually, but as a team, they performed well enough to have the best record in the league. When Bryant's teams were getting bounced in the first round, you knew they were bad teams. They didn't have HCA and of course they weren't anywhere close to the best record in the league. So I don't see that as a valid comparison. For all of LBJ's great stats, you know he is not feared when a big shot needs to be made, because he just can't shoot. Maybe that puts more pressure on his teammates, I really don't know. They know if a big shot is needed, it's going to have to come from them b/c James certainly isn't going to make it. I know whenever the Rockets played the Cavs, the feeling I had when the ball was in Lebron's hands (great, take the shot) was a heck of a lot different than the feeling I had when Bryant has the ball (ominous).
