How can anyone argue that the East is as tough as the West? All LeBron is thinking about is free agency 2010. It was evident in the way he played during the Boston series. So what if he get near triple doubles? He handles the ball all the time and only makes home run passes (as opposed to reverse passes and entry passes). He's 6'9 and can touch the sky hence the rebounds. With his talent and physique he should have destroyed the Celtics. Whatever the reason, he did not play with the requisite amount of urgency and that cost his team the series. I haven't seen a player of LeBron's caliber mail it in as badly as he did against the Celtics.

I think its on pause, and I'll respect that.

It's the new generation who already crown Lebron that mess it up.

I mean "The King" really??? He is the only king that i know with no rings ...

7 season's down. His jump shot is still poor. His drive to the basket game was limited against Boston, and we saw the results.

He can't drive to the basket consistently for another 5 seasons. I don't ever see him having a shot like MJ or Kobe. But it can get better.

I guess I'm just going to let it breathe, and see what happens in free agency.

He still has everything in the world to prove in the postseason.

He took a S**** Cavs team to the finals. You can't say he hasn't done anything in the playoffs. His jumper his average. Nothin to hot about it agreed. Kid's only 25?

For all the talent that Lebron has, he isn't going to win playing the style that he plays. This is the offense for the Cavs: Give the ball to Lebron, let him go to work which pretty much is drive to the hoop and try to finish or kick it out to a teammate for a 3 or just let Lebron just take the 3 himself. You can attribute that to the quality of his teammates but everybody that's been brought in to Cleveland is relegated to a jumpshooter. That isn't an offense, that's nba2k. Lebron may have great stats but if you look at how they play it's not a surprise to see why he is able to achieve them. You can't win like that because it's pretty much a one man show plus it's completely predictable for a team like the Celtics to pick apart. Is it any wonder why the Cavs completely fall apart if Lebron isn't in the game? They run a fascist offense.

As much as Kobe does jack it up, he still plays within an offense for most of the game because he has a real coach in Phil Jackson that he actually listens to. That's why the Lakers can still win if Kobe isn't playing. That and he doesn't have crap teammates.

For all the assists that Lebron racks up, he's still playing in a selfish way. He needs coaching and guidance to help him learn how to play the game the right way. If he does learn, he may not get triple doubles as often anymore but I think getting championships would more than make up for it.

right, and Kobe could have also taken the cavs to the finals in the east, that year.

    East is garbage .

One of the best posts I've seen in regards to LeBron and his team.

    Good Job!

As you recall the end of the season when the Lakers wanted win 60 + games but couldn't and they decided to rest Bryant.
so yeah I dun think the rest of the team can really win without Bryant.

they CAN win without kobe. they probably would be a top 3-4 seed WITHOUT kobe in the west (they went 6-1 during a stretch during the reg. season where he rested and they beat the better teams like spurs/jazz on the road mind you, and beat them convincingly).

obviously they won't win a championship but this team is stacked, esp. in the starting lineup. and their length is ridiculous.

Right, because Kobe did SO well against those Pistons teams that Lebron owned. What did he shoot against them, 30%? And that was WITH Shaq. LOL!

    Kobe-first fans are garbage.

I am talking play off games where match up decides the fate. We will never know.
Close to the playoff this team was not good. Maybe at the beginning or during the season but thats not as important as the playoffs.

I'm not a kobe, lebron, or mj fan .

I just recognize greatness and legacy. Lebron does not have that yet.. yes he is only 25.

That Piston's team he beat was also a couple of years older than the Championship team.

but getting swept in the Finals? lol

Not nearly the same Pistons team as the 04 team. You can't make an argument if the teams aren't really the playing on the same level and have different rosters.

    they were 4-1 not 6-1!

That team won't make the playoffs in the West. Kobe hit 6 gamewinners, wipe those away and you're left with a 50-51 team +/- about a dozen unreal gamesaving performances from him and you're looking at a 36-38 win team, that Laker team won't make the playoffs.

Back in Memphis Gasol was surrounded by a hell of a defensive unit. Only thing is it can only take you so far...it resulted in a 0-12 record in the playoffs in 3 postseason visits before joining the Lakers

the 2006-07 pistons were 53-29, and got the 1 seed. cavs were 50-32, 2 seed.

In the west the 1 seed had 67 wins, the 2 seed had 61, the 3 seed had 58, 4 seed had 51.

    big deal.

Kobe is that great. No doubt but he still wins games being a loner. I still think Gasol stepped it up in the finals and also Fisher plays better than in the reg. season. He's old. But as a unit without Kobe they are not so good as well. Not a unity either. That says more about Kobe the great individual player than team mate.
