OK, sorry. Forgot Morrison and Mbenga were there last year......but niether played.....You ever wonder why the NFL is bigger than NBA? Look at the way the title game ended....in a sub 90 point free throw fest....that's like the Super Bowl ending with a 9-3 field goal fest. I'm so sick of the NBA.....the next season is so pivitol to the future of pro basketball in America. It is already the 4th most popular sport (behing NFL, MLB and College football) and it is at risk to falling behind even further.....
I just saying SOMEHOW all the big men got injure really often , I don't care how good he is if he can't play that means nothing.
If a player on another team plays legitimately well and has a massive impact, I feel they should be rewarded. I obviously don't mean that it should have occurred in this case, I'm just saying it in general. I think Jerry West was the only player to get the Finals MVP in that manner. And the Lakers crowd booing Bill Russell was just not classy.
I'd say big 2, Garnett and Pierce were OK but Ray Allan came up small. I doubt the Celts want him back after this.
Is Dwight Howard injured a lot? Also, the state of the big man is at a state of being dead....if the best is Gasol.....then let's just say Rik Smits is somewhere smiling......because that is the equavilent.....
Precisely, you have to be able to play in the game to be great, and that is defined by health. No it is not fair, but that is life. I am sorry. He played extremely well all series. He shot horribly today for sure. But he rebounded the ball, he played good defense, and did everything else he could today to help his team win this game. He normally just plays the scorer role, but he showed today that when he cannot do that he will do everything else. No, he was not his best today, but I refuse to define his career based on this one game.
Oh yes I agree with that Kobe fanboys will say hes moving in on Mike as the GOAT after this game. The truth is that Kobe is a great player no doubt but hes no where near Mike and never will be.
Okay...but the best big is NOT Gasol...I'd rather say Tim Duncan, Gasol benefits from playing on a superteam. Like I said, if Gasol is the gold standard of Big men, then the big man is dead....
