I only tuned in in the second half. What adjustments has Doc Rivers made? What adjustment should he/Thibodeau make? Have they tried any zone like Phoenix? Have they tried anything at all?
Did I say that? You can't deny the injury to Perkins allowed Gasol to destroy inside, and other Laker players to penetrate.
Mark Jackson: "The way they are playing, Kobe doesn't have to have a big game." Thanks, Capt. Obvious. LA is leading by 27 atm. Of course Kobe can take it easy right now.
If the Celts have no chance, the game plan for the Celts should be this: Rondo and Tony Allen keep taking jump shots; helps they practice in LA's stadium, and helps them practice jumpshots against LA's defense.
But then he'd be fired after a year, and then would come back on again. Eh, still a year without him.
Hmm... they said that Kobe would have won Finals MVP if the C's would've won the game tonight. I don't think I can agree with that. It'd have to go to Pierce (assuming he had a great game 6) or Rondo (assuming he had a great game 6).
Simmer down. Boston has won 7 out of the last 10 nba finals games with this Lakers team before tonight. Game 7 will be different just like game 2 was after the game 1 blowout.
Not with the Celtics' missing their only guy capable of defending the basket. Appears the second year in a row in which the Lakers coast to a title on the back of their toughest opponent losing their basket protector to a devastating leg injury. Only way I can see Boston having a chance is if Sheed can give them 30 good minutes defensively AND hit from the outside. With his back, I have my doubts.
Not only is Perkins out, but Shelden Williams is his replacement. You go, not from a +1 to a 0, but from a +1 to a -1.
True, I was thinking more along the lines of an assistant. He'd probably stick around longer in that kind of role. He's just hard to listen to.
I could easily see that happening, and it's why I'd be shocked if the game is even close. With Perk out, Rasheed is the only other big that even has the potential to contend with Gasol and Bynum in his post defense. I'm not saying I think he will - just noting that he's the only one that's even shown flashes and has a 5% chance. Baby isn't tall enough, and Shelden is one of the worst players I've ever seen.
This is true. I wouldn't use this as an excuse though since Bynum has been playing on one leg. Here's to hoping that the Celts pull off a shocker!
