I don't think you realize how high of a release KG has, it's virtually defenseless unless you want to risk getting a foul.

Yup Dwight didn't even use the hand in the face tactic.

Then throw in the fact that KG literally shakes side to side about 5 times and the shot is even harder to block.

 

You realize only the Magic would pay that much.

It would be awesome if we drafted him. He would have turned out different.

Assuming he stayed with us until now, he would have been coached by JVG and Adelman.

yes it was, and very few people not named paul pierce would get it called in a game this physical. someone needs to make a montage of all the ticky-tack, not driving to the basket fouls he's gotten late in playoff games the last 3 years. in the '08 finals he would just go in, trip over his own feet and then stroll to the line.

 

They also had a BS call that took Perkins out of the game, which is right when Orlando made their run. That Pierce foul was legit. Even if Carter hits his FT's they are still down 1. Missed free throws don't have anything to do with Boston being up, or JJ being a dummy. Boston earned this game.

 

at the end of the day, boston is winning because they are tougher, especially mentally, and i understand they don't need the refs. and i'm venting right now. but the big call to me was the davis "charge." redick had 2 free throws to give orlando the lead again, instead they got nothing and boston went up 3 next time down and orlando never got it back.

considering the number of buzzer beating 3's carter has made throughout his career, it was amazing to see him choke those 2 ft's so badly. granted, you have more time to think up at the line, but still they weren't even close.

 

Plus it was at home, coming out of a timeout, I believe.

You got somewhat of a breather, AND no one is trying to distract you.

 

Orlando has made him that type of player. Rashard Lewis would drive, post-up, and also create 3's for himself when he played for Seattle.

I don't believe the Sonics ever had a legit C when Lewis and Allen played there.

It was always Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, night in, night out.

 

I hate to say this but major props to the Celts for having the maturity and focus to not have a letdown and take this game. If Paul Pierce keeps putting up points like this, all he needs is for KG to have a decent offensive game and for one or two of Rondo/Ray Allen/Big Baby/Rasheed to show up. The Celts defense will take care of the rest.

On the other hand, the Magic are showing they may not be mature enough to beat the Lakers. Jameer Nelson and chokemaster VC have to start showing up. Matt Barnes and Rashard Lewis are worthless. If Redick hadn't put up 16, this game wouldn't have been close.

The Celts need to just pay Tom Thibadeau like a head coach and make sure he stays. The Celts D is beautiful. There is no shame in being a specialist when you are that good.

 

Orlando was just sweeping their way to the Finals. The Celtics on the other hand destroyed their competition when people were predicting them to lose to the Heat! When they beat the Cavs, it was the Cavs beating themselves and Boston not getting credit. Now with a 2-0 lead on the ROAD, you gotta admit this team is playing with some insane heart and fire right now.

 

They aren't even showing enough maturity, or mental acuity to match the Celtics.

 

I feel like the Magic needed to lose two or three games along the way. They came into this series with a sense of "We are the best team in the East for sure" when it obviously isn't true.

Magic got roundhouse kicked in game 1, and could never recover.
