It's a good way to see how one rank's relative to one's peers over a certain span. IMO HoFers absolutely have to be top 10 players for the majority of their career - most are top 5 for a few years stretch although a few get in on international accomplishments(Ginobli)/blunt statistics(VC or Pierce).

Players who are undoubtedly better than Rondo atm:
    Kobe
    Wade
    Lebron
    Nowitzki
    Duncan
    Paul
    Williams
    Howard
    Durant
    Nash

    Arguables:
    Carmelo
    Gasol

You don't argue someone is going to have a HoF career after 4 decent years. Look at Rondo's numbers and accolades and compare them to any HoF PG of your choice - he has a long way to go until he's even considered that level of talent.
The difference between Bird and Nash? Bird was putting up .600+ TS seasons while averaging 27 points per game. There is a HUGE difference when you're scoring at that kind of level with that kind of efficiency.

Ray Allen has only started shooting at a truly high TS after the move to Boston - and it's directly because his scoring load went down. Bird was scoring more points on higher efficiency for the majority of his career.

The problem with using aggregate numbers when looking at Bird is that he declined drastically after 87-88 dragging all of his numbers down. It's not fair or realistic to use career numbers when talking about Bird. There has never been another non-big in NBA history who has scored at an equal volume as Bird on that kind of efficiency. Hell, among bigs it's rarely accomplished - DRob did it once, Dream never did it, Barkley did it (he was a banger despite his size), Shaq has done it many times..... but that's Shaq.

There is no question that Bird was the greatest shooter in NBA history during his prime.

You're out of your mind if you don't think McGrady was better in his prime. I'll just count that comment as hate rhetoric brought about by last year. All stats/accolades point to McGrady being the better player in his prime. We're talking about a perennial first teamer and MVP candidate versus someone who has never made an all nba first team and has only been in the top 10 of MVP voting once.

You can use the first round argument - but when it's all said and done McGrady performed well, he didn't regress like DRob. Statistically he was better than Pierce in the playoffs in every category (check it yourself) - this includes the years in Houston where he was a cripple.

I think it's funny you use the teammate defense then discount it when it comes to McGrady. By the time McGrady had a team he was a broken down shell - the guy was never the same player after '05/'06. You can hate him for it if you want.

    ?

Pierce was not very good in the series...

And why can't Cox replace Burke in every facet of reporting?

I wonder if what we hear from JVG during his broadcasting, is what he was like during his coaching time with the Rockets.

It's so great to have a former coach be a commentator. He sees things that we can't see, and then explains it. Amazing.

Pierce was such a ballhog on that play.

He never passes it back to Rondo.

What does that say about DH's offensive game(besides his power dunking) when they keep saying over again how Perkins is to good of a defender?

Well Perkins abused Yao like a wifebeater the past two seasons. What does it say about Yao's game then when a 7'6 dude get pwned by guy more than a foot shorter than he is?

Rondo's game is so amazing, man if he ever develops a jumper he will easily be the # 1 point guard in the nba.

Stan van Gundy playing gortat and howard at the same time might save them from going down 0-2 what an awesome adjustment, the ball is in doc rivers court to adjust to the adjustment.

I wasn't comparing Yao and Dwight, or how Yao might be just as bad at times(I don't know for sure, I'd have to go back and look at the celts games/stats).
Just saying, DH's post game needs work...but no shocker, right. ;)
