T-Mac had a LOT less to do with this team inability to seal the deal in the playoffs than the lack of Yao and Luther Head's disappearance. Not to mention that by then Deke was worn out. It was Scola's first taste of the playoffs and Landry was hurt. I think this has less to do with anyone here being "T-Mac Fans" and more to do with you being a T-Mac hater. He led this team to extraordinary heights 2 seasons in a row when Yao went down and if you can't agree with that then you are a jack@ss. Yao is obviously the best player on our team but to say that T was not a leader is just ridiculous. Try again rook.
Come on treat your own team's player with respect. Depending on what happens this year, McGrady ill most likely resign with the Rockets, with a much smaller deal even perhaps. I just can't see Yao and McGrady splitting up IMO. They're both very humble players who are good friends with each other, unlike Shaq, they don't kill each other for spotlight. Through all these years these 2 players played together well, and have made a change to bring the Rockets back to championship state. McGrady and Yao will take pay cuts, Ron will probably sign a smaller contract, and if he is the man of his words, he will not accept a larger deal from other teams. Yao is a catalyst for Chemistry, just wait till we resign Mutombo. I'm 100% sure the players will remain just for chemistry reasons and to win. The players want to win now more than money, unless if you're Bron bron of course.
I don't understand how he is on a steep decline when the last time in the playoffs this is what he did: MPG 41.2 PPG 27.0 FG% .425 RPG 8.2 (career playoff best) APG 6.8 (higher than his career playoff avg of 6.2) SPG 1.5 (higher than his career playoff avg. 1.2) TO 3.00 (lower than his career playoff avg. of 3.21) The only thing that has significantly dropped is FT% and he seems to be working on that this year. I seriously can give a **** less what he does during the season as long as he is available and healthy in the playoffs.
