Wow, are you dense in the head? Still don't get it? I'm love District 9. As good as District 9 is it borrowed heavily from Alien Nation. So before people start dissing Avatar and saying it's ripoff, they should take a look at District 9 comparison.
People get so upset when things are supposedly "rip-offs". Big deal. Almost every movie that comes out these days borrows heavily from another source material rather it be an older movie, a book or a real-life event.
Kind of upset that Indian Elvis didn't make it. <object width="400" height="370"><param name="movie" value="http://www.grapheine.com/bombaytv/bt.swf?code=3c5b94a12f4a7b0bdd9a05cc98fef7ff"></param><embed src="http://www.grapheine.com/bombaytv/bt.swf?code=3c5b94a12f4a7b0bdd9a05cc98fef7ff" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="400" height="370" allowScriptAccess="always"></embed><noembed> <a href="http://www.grapheine.com" title=creation sites internet flash agence>blog graphiste</a></noembed> </object>
So while Pirate Bay and the like is down, can get some extra promotion and ca$h flow toward the movies. Every 20-25 years or so there's a new generation of movie goers who havent seen certain older movies before. Can always remake a lesser known movie and rebrand it with modern touches.
I have no problem when a movie borrows from whatever but if it's a good movie that's all its matter. It just plain double standard to call Avatar a rip-offs or unoriginal when all the movies on that list pretty much aren't original either.
Yep, just noticed that Moon wasn't listed in the nominees, darn can't believe they just passed on that movie, for me, Moon is way better than District 9! How the hell the District 9 would be able to make it to the nominees, it's a good movie but doesn't look that great in my eyes.
The Coen Brothers are remaking True Grit. Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin and Shae Labouf are all in it.
Well I get it, that means, the more money the movie could make, the better chance they have at getting nominated. It's not about the movie itself anymore, it's all about MONEY and MARKETING I guess.
Good to see District 9 and Up on there. I wish Moon and Star Trek had gotten BP nominations, as well. Man, this was really the year of Sci-Fi.
