I wouldn't draw conclusions just yet, but starting out 1-4 at home is pretty bad. It wouldn't shock me if they ended up the 7th or 8th seed. A big part of their problem is D'Antoni isn't a very good coach. The loose ship he runs on defense will cost the Knicks a lot of games.

Agree 100%. Lee was a better rebounder, Amare a better scorer. Neither can really defend. Knicks not going to go anywhere.

The NY Knicks are definitely a Lottery team, I'm getting exciting for the 2011 NBA Draft.

They are playing on the easiest part of their schedule. When they start playing some more playoff teams, the losing will get worse. They are 1-4 against teams with a 0.500 record or better. They also lack depth. An injury to Felton, Stoudemire, Gallinari, or Chandler is a losing streak.

That is the most pessimistic way of looking at it. At some point during the season they will jell and play a lot better than they are now. That is, if D'Antoni doesn't lose control of the ship.

Agreed that an injury to a key player for a period of time will likely doom them. I'm just saying don't count them out for the 8th seed. There is a long way to go.

It's rare for all 5 starters to play over 80 games. It will happen at some point, if you follow the odds instead of optimism.

Their biggest issues depth and a weak rebounding front court lineup. Gallinari and Stoudemire is one of the weakest rebounding front court combos in the league. After they do gel, I don't think their rebounding will go up much.

they are currently in the exact 6th spot in the draft in the early season going here. i can still see them making the playoffs or even dropping down to the 3rd or 4th pick.

and if a bad injury hits them who knows what will happen.

Knicks have won 5 straight and are now 8-8

Raymond Felton playing like an all star so far.

After a 5 game winning streak, the Knicks get to test their improvement against a team with a winning record. If they lose to the Hawks, it will only reaffirm my prediction of a lottery season for them.

The game starts in 20 minutes(12:00 PM CST).

The haters on this board are having a bad year.

    Knicks will suck = wrong
Amare without Nash is a scrub = wrong
David Lee better then Amare = wrong

Could go on and on with the stupid things the haters are saying..

the only people who say this are people who haven't really been watching amare all these years.

they see a couple of highlights of nash dishing to amare for an easy dunk and automatically thin that amare needs nash to dominate while forgetting all the points he scored by just iso'ing up defenders.

i've said it since the beginning. amare doesn't need nash. not one bit.

a great offensive player can do it anywhere
