    Yeah this is one the rare cases where I think the tv show/movie is pretty much better than the book.

    The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins is pretty damned good. I went in being agnostic and he claimed he could make me an atheist. He did an awesome job.

    Not recommended for anyone with a religion.

    about to start tourist season by carl hiaasen. i was just introduced to him a couple months ago and he's quickly rocketed near the top of my favorite authors list. i'm actually going to watch striptease because of him.

    I've been into really long books lately. I just finished reading Mervyn Peake's The Ghormenghast Novels. It was a spectacular, dark trilogy... really vivid characters and a great plot.

    I've just started reading Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon. 1,000 pages of WWII codebreaking, modern cyber-hacking, and treasure-hunting fun.

    I've been reading mostly light novels recently. Mainly because they're lighthearted and funny. Currently reading Shakugan no Shana.

    Kind of odd that growing up I always preferred more "serious" books. And yet now I'm reading kiddie books.

    a brief history of time, only around 100 pages should be an easy read.

    Just finished Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.

    It was a fast read, but an amazing story. The main character's story is compelling, but the background scenery of life on a traveling circus during the Great Depressions is the real star. It seems like a lot of people on CF have enjoyed this book, and I have to add my praise to their chorus.

    Up next: Everything Is Illuminated by Johnathan Safran Foer. Someone on CF recommneded this book last year, and I'm looking forward to finally sitting down to read it.

    Have you folks heard of this new site where you basically archive everything you've read with a short review and you can share this with the folks you choose? I know it's nerdy, but Mrs. B-Bob started this and she loves it. I don't read quite enough to take advantage... I wish I could remember the site name. :eek:
