He can play a full game and he can play defense. Unfortunatly his weakness, which anyone with a brain can figure out, is that he cannot play through pain. It was also evident that when his offense isn't flowing or he feels like he can't play his best offensivly, his effort falls away, Fortunatly, he was never sent to the locker room during a play-off game for b****ing about court time. You either trade him for crap or wait till his contract ends to use the free space to get a big, fat, juice golden nugget.
This is the final year of his contract coming up. The Free Agency at the end of that year consists of LeBron, Wade, Bosh and Joe Johnson. That is why I have said we need to see what happens next season. Who needs help?
I wouldnt mind eddie house's shooting on this team, but he'll prob keep his player option.. other guys to consider, who are free agents : Wally, Ghill, barnes, birdman, Kleiza, Korver
What about Caron Butler? I know Daryl Morey wanted to get him in the trade deadline and tried to trade Ron straight up for him, but the Wizards declined it. I wouldn't mind trading a guy like T-Mac for him and we could get a guy like Brendan Haywood in return. T-Mac is a juicy expiring contract and lots of team would love to have that expiring contract for 2010. We might have to throw in a guy like AB in there and then we could get Mike James back.
and i think we should ask what the kings want for hawes or thompson, both are young, but really talented, capable rebounders and have offensive talent, and hawes has 3 pt range.
Ron and T-Mac? I don't think the Wizards could take that much. I think T-Mac and Brooks for Butler, James and Haywood would be enough. Could possibly add Brian Cook.
what about Marc Gasol?? he was a very solid rebounder this year, still needs work offensively, but given how competitive the gasol brothers are, the fact that he should pick up some things from Pau over summer workouts, and that he seems to be progressibely getting inbetter shape, i think this guy could have a break out year soon. He's making just over 3 mill until the summer of 2011, a bargain if u ask me. 7-1 265, only 24 yrs old, he averaged 12 and 7, shooting 53% Fg and a solid 73% FT, along with a block a game.
Trade T-mac to Bobcats' for Okafor, Felton and Mohammed! Why the bobcats will do this? Felton want to leave so they will have to do a sign and trade deal to at least at something in return. Okafor has been a big disappointment and i read that Brown and the management want to deal his remaining contract. With T-mac, the bobcats is gambling whether he can regain his form. With Jordan and Larry Brown, T-mac probably will regain some long lost fire. If T-mac is done, at least bobcats will save 23millions for 2010 free market! For financial view, the bobcats dump some bad contracts. For the team standpoint, they lost some talents and gamble on T-mac. Why do the Rockets do this? They got a starting PG and backup C/PF. Felton - Probably asked for 8-9millions per year. A starting PG quality and will further improve the rockets PG position. Okafor - Lack of desire. Hopefully trading back to his hometown will get him going again. He can play both C and PF well and can be a reliable for Yao. Mohammed - Filler. You trade a damaged good you are expecting to get a bad contract back. He will be a third string backup center. With this trade, the Rockets address their biggest concern, backup C for Yao and get another PG in return. The deal will make rockets absorb some bad contracts but that's the price you have to pay! Yao/Okarfor/Mohammed Scola/Landry/Hayes Battier/White Artest/Wafer/Barry Felton/Brooks/Lowry
Well what about T-Mac and AB for Mike James, Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood? That was actually my real offer, I was saying Morey had interest in Butler in the trade deadline and I hope Morey can still try to aim for Butler. Butler is a swingman and is a great scorer not to mention he's one of the more versatile players in the league.
you think that's worth it? thompson had some very nice stretches this year, i think he could definitely get close to 10 boards a game playing starter's minutes, and what did scola put up, 12pts a game? Thompson can do that, just with a different style, but thompson has more height and is a better shot blocker.
we would be stuck at PG then... Mike James is garbage and Kyle Lowry is not good enough yet to be a starting PG, he's a good backup
I beg to differ on Lowry. I still suggest Lowry starting whether AB returns to the Rockets or not. He is most likely going to stay in Houston though. I still prefer Lowry starting.
I dont like all this talk about trading Brooks. He's a young point guard who hasn't fully reached his potential and is already a dynamite offensive player. Why would you trade away a young guy who plays a position where we've lacked in consistent scoring and outside shooting? Obviously he's a guy that can be a cornerstone for our team to build with and messing with our point guard situation in the offseason seems to be unproductive when we have other needs (back up big) unless we somehow miraculously obtain Chris Paul or Deron Williams (not likely).
Not sure if this has been mentioned or not but as I see it we have may be about 4 -5 year window of winning championship IF Yao stays healthy and at this point it is a big if. I say we take our chances and trade for Steve Nash. We can may be give them Aaron Brooks, Tracy Mcgrady & in return we make them sign Ron Artest and trade him along with Steve Nash to us.
