I've fine-tuned this trade scenario to include the Knicks... Multiple (5) team trade: TE + draft rights to Eliyahu to BLAZERS for Rodriguez + draft rights to Freeland *Blazers create salary space if they plan to go after one of the big name free agents McGrady + Rodriguez to NETS for Carter + Najera + Hassell *Nets get their 3rd PG they've been after as well as dumping Najera + Hassell even tthough Lowry + Hassell + Cook to KNICKS for Mobley *Knicks need another PG and a great PR move by Walsh turning a retired player (Mobley) into a 1st round pick (Lowry) without effecting 2010 cap space *Rockets get the psuedo-$7.6M TE that is Mobley's contract Brooks + Landry + Mobley to SUNS for Nash *Suns will be hard pressed to find a better deal that involves both young talent and salary relief. Suns will be well over LT. The savings on Mobley's contract cancels out the LT they are likely to pay next season. Rockets 2009-10 Nash, (TAU: Pablo Prigioni), (Panchi Barerra) Carter, Barry, (draft: Nando De Colo) Battier, (Dahntay Jones), (Brad Newley) Scola, Hayes, Dorsey Yao, (Pamesa: Matt Nielsen), Freeland
i can see the knicks trade possible. the rest, not so much. especially phoenix. they would trade shaq and amare first before giving up nash. the nets trade could work, but im sure the nets would do it only at the trade deadline after seeing tmac coming back after a surgery. trading for an injured mcgrady for a healthy carter is giving up on the season before it even started.
Nash's availability depends on him wanting out of Phoenix. The Nets are in trouble financially. McGrady's insured contract helps their situation. They would hope McGrady starts the season on the injury list. If they keep Carter until the deadline they're still paying Carter his wages.
I didn't want to start a new thread so I bumped this one. Random Trade Idea Charlotte gets Shane Battier Brian Cook Houston gets Emeka Okafor
I've been pushing this for weeks! I think Okafor would be great on this team but he makes so much money and with the few moves we've made and the ones we haven't lead me to believe the Rox dont want to add such a big salary unless its a tier 1 star!
I'd love Okafor on the Rockets, but even to get out from under the burden of his contract, Charlotte would never sell that low. Morey said yesterday that the Rockets might make a trade later in the summer. Do they have to wait to make a trade, maybe? Landry can't be traded anywhere without his consent until September, the anniversary he signed the offer sheet with the Bobcats; and he can't be traded to Charlotte until September, consent or no. Maybe the Bobcats still want him?
His contract is huge and has a lot of years left so it basically dampens the flexibility of the team in obtaining other pieces to build the team. Not worth the risk. He is good but not a player you build your team around.
Okafor wouldn't really fit on this team IMO... he's not really a hustler... he's not really too athletic... he doesn't really have a jumpshot... he's inside presence.. something we already have with Yao. To back up Yao.. yeah... but that's too much to give up to have a back up C.
Corey Maggette and Stephen Jackson. Maggette - don't know a whole lot about him, but decent stat line Jackson - a bit of a loose cannon, but who better to deal with someone like that than adelman?
Doubtful but I think he could be a decent signing. Morey is likely going to use the rest of the MLE on Taylor and Chase but I wonder if we can pry him for cheap. Only 27 years old, athletic, decent wingspan. He could make Landry/Scola expendable in a trade.
The Rockets have a lot of questions with their roster. How are they going to score? How are they going to fair without Yao? When is McGrady coming back? Hmmm I wonder what THE ANSWER is to all these questions. We need to find the answer. At least just 1 year. Won't hurt.
Well.. we can't get him anyways... Memphis has more to offer to him (that's what he wants.. money and PT) and Memphis will also play him more... Memphis will end up with him.. end of discussion about... the answer.
