Battier is a valuable player but it is highly unlikely to get a true star for him. For example Portland would never give up Brandon Roy for him. GM's realize his worth but they also see his shortcomings. Even a package of Scola and Battier can't get that done.

Well said. I think Arenas is one of the worst players in the leauge. I don't care how many points he scores, the rest of the team suffers. Maybe it was the coach, but when Arenas was playing Washington looked disorganized and incompetent.

As opposed to the beautiful basketball they played this year without him??

They went from 43 wins to 19 wins. The vast majority of that was the absence of Agent Zero.

Arenas, Barron Davis, Alan Iverson - all players I want no part of. They are like Steve Francis. Individually they are exciting to watch, as a team you are going nowhere. the only exception I can think of is the year Larry Brown got AI to play with his teammates and they went tothe finals. Maybe there is hope.

That's fine. Just don't pretend Washington was better off without him.

If you do this trade, you do NOT waste your pick on a PG.

If we get the number 5 pick, I would immediately try to trade up for the number 2 or 3 pick, to nab Thabeet.

Rockets need to solidify SG and C.

I'm sorry, but von wafer is not an answer at SG. Furthermore, having our backup C at 6'9 is not an answer...artest is a 3 like shane...they both pwn that position.

Ideally, like to upgrade PG too, but I'll suffer with brooks if we can upgrade the other two positions.

LOL at Arenas playing 3rd PG.
LOL at using the #5 on the 2nd PG.
    LOL at the OVERALL trade.
LOL at the fact that that trade made no sense for Washington.

I was referring to something along the lines of a "Chris Paul mega-package" with T-Mac, Battier, and a variety from among Brooks, Landry, Scola and/or Lowry. Short of something like that (or a smaller trade but still for an All-NBA type of player), I would just hold on to Battier.

Indeed, those are the two positions that the team must address. If a chance to get a star player to fill in those needs without giving up too much then it would be a great off season. If not then getting quality role players would do. Wafer is good when he comes off the bench. Lets hope he continues to develop and not regress.

Way to keep it realistic there, did you even try to think about why washington would trade us there two best players for tmac and brooks, not to mention there number 5 pick on top of that.. let me do the numbers for you .. In the very few games arenas played last year he was 13pts, 4.5 rbds, and 10 assist, butler who was a beast was 21pts, 6 rbds, 4 assist, and 1.6 steals, and he has an amazing contract of only 9mil... why in the world would they do this trade plus give us a great pic.. and dont even say for expiring cause that would just be ridiculous.

Who knows? Teams trying to cut cost or moving in a direction for next years free agency would might make an offer for Tmac's expiring contract. There are a lot of scenarios that could possibly be had when it comes to Tmac. Patience is a virtue. :D

I dont know why it hasnt been brought up that much. But what about ginobili in FA? Hes still got alot left in the tank, he is a team player..spurs ball is based on purely team play, and he is a great passer, slasher, and shooter. Plus he played with scola. What do yall think?
