I'm well aware that Wilson is a safety, but from an assessment point I heard the talking heads of sports radio discussing the current situation and they agreed that Wilson moving to cover corner as of right now would probably make him the team's best cover option. Hard to argue that given the relative inexperience of what they have on the field now minus Reeves and Robinson. Reeves will be lucky to be at full strength at any part of this season, and even then he's no Nnamdi Asomugha.
Nobody, Nnamdi is the greatest cover corner since Deion and Rod Woodson ruled their sides of the field with an iron fist in the early 1990s. Just ask Chump Bailey.
You're basing ANY opinion based on what the "talking heads of sports radio" have to say?? I'm pretty sure the last time Wilson played corner was about three years ago. I'll take my chances leaving him at safety and playing Bennett, a rusty Dunta, Quin, and Mccain at corner and not having a rookie (Troy Nolan) have to start at Safety. This cornerback situation is getting blown way out of proportion. You would think we'd just lost three guys for the season.
I trust the opinions of Adam Sexler Wexler over the general consensus of dunces every day. They feel like their depth at Safety is better than their depth at Corner at the moment, Nolan would not be starting in that scenario... you've got Barber and Ferguson do you not?
Wexler definitely is definitely in the minority in that he knows what he's talking about on Houston sports radio. Barber and Ferguson are more suited for SS. I don't think sliding Wilson over to Corner would lead to a better secondary than leaving him at Safety and going with the young guys at Corner...overall the secondary would be much more effective with him at safety. Worst case scenario, we have to rush Dunta into the mix in week one. And that's if all of the hype on Quin and Mccain falls through completely, and we get nothing out of whoever is signed (Mckenzie, Webster, O'neal).
A veteran corner with experience is better than throwing a young guy to the Wolves. For certain. Luckily you're not facing any scary passing attacks until @ Arizona in Week 5, and after that you've got the Bungles and the Niners... so I could see why they aren't too worried about the corner problem at the moment as long as the injuries don't keep piling up.
i dont. just dont think the texans will be that good next year. much less win the superbowl. i think they will be in 2-3 years though maybe as they get a little older team wise.
Wait, where's Molden? I heard he was recovering from his injury and looking good. Hearing the players talk, they say he's one of the young guys who could be a difference maker.
He's on PUP to start camp, but Mcclain said he was looking good working out by himself. Between him, Bennett, the rookies, and whoever we sign, we should be able to last until Dunta and Reeves are ready to go.

Man, if the Cowboys go 9-7 this year and not do better than that, then I'm splitting skulls. I think they went from SB faves last season (which was clearly wrong and all media homegrown bs) to noone expecting anything from this season. I think they will surprise people...especially if players like Felix Jones can stay healthy for the duration. Plus, that manbitchattentionwhore TO is gone.
If Brady isn't rusty, the Patriots will beat the Steelers in the AFC Championship game or quarterfinals. If he's rusty, the Pats will beat the Steelers in the wildcard game or quarterfinals.
man, with Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White, Micheal Turner and company.....I think ATL is gonna make some serious noise in the NFC.
I like Atlanta too, but that division is hellaciously crowded. The Saints, despite Bush's problems, are going to be better this year and have arguably the best QB in the NFL. The Panthers have a stout defense and a top 3 running game IMO. The Bucs won't make it because of their QB play, but are no push overs either.
