Sanchez will be gone by 8.

    Possibly even 5.

I've really been trying...for like a week now...to figure out why I'm so obsessed with the NFL draft. Honestly, I have no idea. I just frickin love it.

I'm kind of glad that the number 1 pick hasn't been decided yet. It really adds to the intrigue. I still think it will be Stafford, but who knows.

I'm also trying not to get my heart set on any one player, because I'm convinced the the Saints will take him at 14.

That's probably true. His stock has gone way up since his workout. People are saying he'd be the top pick if he stayed another year. NFL draftcountdown has Sanchez going #8 to Jax plus a bunch of teams are thinking about moving up to get him.

Both Sanchez and Tyson Jackson have seen their stock skyrocket the last week or so. Some think Sanchez could go #2 to the Rams or #4 to Seattle. Jackson could possibly go #3 to KC, he'd fit in very nicely as a 3-4 DE. I do think the Rams will go with Jason Smith, they lost Pace and LTs are a premium. But I don't think Sanchez will make it past the Jags.

Reports are saying the Cardinals have reduced their asking price for Boldin to a 2nd round pick tomorrow. COME ON REID, MAKE A DEAL!!!

I have trouble believing that... no way there is THAT little interest in him.

*edit: apparently ESPN is saying it is 2nd round pick plus "other considerations"... i.e. 2nd round pick, plus a 3rd... and a 5th... etc

I'm a huge proponent of "bird in the hand" > "two in the bush"

Boldin is a pro bowl level talent.

I'd love to see him in an Eagles uni.

I think he's going to end up a Giant, though.

I say come one Jones or McNair make the deal. :D

The Texans fan in me would love to see him in a Texans Jersey across from AJ and the Cowboys fan in me wants to see him across from Williams (who JJ paid way to much for) and anywhere but Philly, NY or Washington.

Gotta remember though it's not just the picks but the new contract that he wants that makes it tough for teams to make the move.

tony G going for a second rounder may have set the price. There is interest, but i doubt at the expense of a first rounder.

true, but people may be weary of the financial aspect of it.

Glad the Falcons were able to get Tony Gonzalez.

I'm hearing that the Falcons may trade the 24th and 90th pick to Kansas City for Glenn Dorsey.

I'm liking the moves Dimitroff are making.

Tony G is also a 13 year vet... and he plays a seemingly lower profile position.

Boldin is a pro bowler, has a cheap contract (2 years left), and in his prime still.

I can't believe he could be had for anything less than a 1st rounder.

Better to pay for who you know is a Pro Bowl talent, rather than throw guaranteed money at an unknown commodity.

True the Eagles have tons of cap room though and they know how to work the system to squeeze every bit out of it. ;)

i agree, but a person in the mid-to-late 1st round is still cheaper than a probowl receiver...no?

he may have 2 years left but will certainly get a new contract wherever he goes. He's been beating that drum for 2 years now. He wants to get paid which is why Arizona is looking to deal him.

I agree, he is "worth" a first round but things are working against arizona...when you have a disgruntled player and essentially forced to trade him you are going to get less than real value. Arizona doesn't have hand.

I hope the Bengals take Monroe or Raji...we definitely need some help on both lines.

And I can't wait to see where Rice's James Casey and Jarett Dillard get picked (and IF Chase Clement does...which I doubt he will...but still...)!

There are some injury concerns with Boldin, plus his contract will be substantial.

I seriously hope Pioli can make that deal also. I think I remember you saying you were a Dirty Bird fan.....well, if you get Dorsey, good luck keeping him on the field. That dude is a walking injury, and when he does play......wow. Completely underwhelming.

ToGo will not let you down though. That is a great, great steal. Even though I don't like how he kinda whined his way out of KC......I'm gonna miss him.

Random side note, but Lil Pun's post got me thinking...

I don't claim to know many things about the future-- I've seen too many crazy things happen in sports to say much of anything with certainty. However, I will say this: if any NFL team drafts Josh Freeman in the first round (and I know they will), they are idiots. I have never, ever been more confident in a player busting, in any sport, than I am Freeman.

He has very good size, a rocket arm, and by all accounts appears to be a nice guy. In a weak draft for QBs, apparently that's enough -- because he has nothing else. I've watched him, game after game, for years, and wanted to believe he had potential based on his peripheral talent... but he doesn't. His presence is next to nothing. He has no touch. His accuracy is marginal. He doesn't make proper reads. He lives off a legacy of torching Texas' pass defense (ranked 100 or so) on a crazy night in Manhattan in 2006 where receivers were wide open without a DB within 15 yards of them.

I could go on forever, but I'll leave it at this -- Josh Freeman is Kyle Boller. He might be able to throw a football between the goalposts on his knees from midfield, but he is not a QB. Every QB has a development curve, but he absolutely does not grasp the mental side of the game at all. He is an absolute bust waiting to happen, and I feel more strongly about that than I have about any player in a long time.

Josh Freeman = not good at sports
