Cat did say their initial dunk, which was to be assisted, was stolen by Grant hill/Stackhouse.. Steve just played it conservatively the first round.. hence eliminating Tracy afterwards.. and I can't believe people are forgetting how close of a contest it was between Vince and Steve at the end.. considering that year.. Vince's showing was twice what Dwight's was last year..
I would actually love to see Rafer out there. He'd definitely be more entertaining than any of the point guards selected (other than CP3).
it's about right. he's already finished his "duty". don't want to see him running up and down. man, how good is chris paul?!
It's an all-star game, you guys take it too seriously. Tim Duncan didn't look good himself but he was put back on the floor.
If you think Steve was close to VC in that contest you're being a homer. Anybody watching that knew VC had it locked up from start to finish as long as he made his dunk.
Actually Yao would be better off playing when the bench guys out there because the pace is slower. The starting group is constantly moving up and down the court. Hell on a made shot they are already passing the ball to half court.
yao's played little EVERY year. and i'm sure coaches see this is not his style of play. they understand. and it's good for us so yao doesn't get some stupid injury.
you mean like the predetermined thinking.. that if not for online voting.. would've given Dwight a repeat this year..? as long as he made his dunk... but.. all right.. agree to disagree I suppose..
Steve would have won any other year with the performance he had against Vince. Definitely better than the crap on display last night.
vince had that dunk contest on locked b/c he was just that good of a dunker. he exceeded all hype going into that dunk contest. dwight isn't that great of a dunker and mostly based on hype. 2 different thinking.
I'm not dissing Steve but it was less of what Steve did and more of what Vince did that year. Watching that contest there was no way anyone thought Steve or Tracy had a chance unless Vince missed a dunk in the finals. But 2000 was hands down the best slam dunk contest.
