Has the East scored since Yao left the game?

    Before Lewis' 3.

When Shaq is in, they run the ball through him. What Yao was in and posted up perfectly, CP3 looked at him then swung the ball.

West starters suck... well, at least one of them does in all-star games.

They went to Yao twice... both times he didn't have as good as position as Shaq did throughout his stint. One time, he passes it back to Bryant (who wasn't expecting the pass and was guarded), the other time he turns it over.

Contrast that with Shaq who is still decisive in his moves. If he's single-teamed, he looks to score RIGHT AWAY. If he's doubled, he looks to make a play RIGHT AWAY. Yao gets the ball... thinks... looks.... fakes.... dribbles... and then attempts to shoot or pass.

Yao needs to have a lot of things go right for him to make the right play... whereas Shaq is just out there playing basektball.

And this is all without pointing out how Shaq had a much bigger impact defensively.

There was that one play where Yao got it in the post then dribbled it off his leg out of bounds. Other than that, he was basically ignored. CP3 found him one time but it wasn't set up that way. Another time, Yao couldn't hold on to a quick pass from Amare. It was a tricky pass but Yao's slow reaction time didn't help.

inferiority complex much? Just enjoy the stars, this is the only game all year you can root for anyone. You don't have to root for Yao.

The West is just overwhelming them with too much talent. They just needed to get Yao out of there so they could play 5 on 5.

after those 3 plays, why would you wanna pass it to him? they want to save yao from further embarrassment.

it's not his game. he needs to know what plays are being run and things like that. this game is more freelancing and yao can't think on his feet and instinctively.

    LOL @ inferiority complex.

It's not a complex. It's fact. Yao IS inferior in this setting.

It wasn't just Yao. That west lineup is too top heavy in big men which compromises the spacing. Duncan, Yao, and Amare together is just too much. They went on a run after Jackson went with a traditional lineup.

This wasn't targeted to anyone specific, I saw a lot of negativity in this thread, but this is all stars game, it is a show.

What if he is inferior in this setting, so what? Last time I checked, this is a rockets game or NBA finals or anything

if you saw that screen he set for paul on the side, yao just then stood there for a few seconds while other big men would roll HARD and fast for a dunk. paul just then dribbled like what the hell is he doing.
