Update: 2-27-09 Weight: 236.4 Musc: 35% Fat: 27% 4-30-09 Weight: 224.4 Musc: 35.6% Fat: 26.2% 12lbs off, more fat than muscle, but barely. Now that my MS150 training is over I can really start going for bulk, unfortunately my lasik procedure will prevent me from doing anything strenuous for at least a month
It was a sad night for Benito; I think I'm getting shin splints from my running. It isn't something I've ever really had before. So, I'm simply assuming the pain in my lower shins after getting back from run/walking is shin splints. Right? (I do intermediate sprinting/walking, because jogging sucks.)
Down to 221 this morning from 237 March 1st. Only 1 week to go before I hit Florida for vacation... then when I get back, I am going to try to hit 230.. all muscle added.
Update: lost 12 lbs (down to 198 lb) since my 1st post in late January. Possible reasons of success: * reduced amount of dietary intake; * wake up (almost) every night to change baby's diaper, prepare formula and feed baby, and put baby back to sleep.
Started my new diet / exercise plan last week. Weighed in at 256.6 last Sunday, weighed in at 249.8 yesterday morning. Thats almost 7 pounds in the first week. Already I feel like I have a lot more energy. My goal is to get down to my natural weight, which is somewhere around 190-200 (I'm 6-2 with a large frame) I'm keeping a daily journal logging all my exercise stats and dietary stats. My diet consists of mainly organic foods now, I haven't touched anything processed for the most part, and haven't eaten any fast food or had any craving for such. I'm also limiting myself to water (No more diet sodas) throughout the day... 8 glasses (64 ounces) is mandatory, but with my extra weight I need to drink closer to 96 ounces a day.
you know whats weird for me and fast food is i dont really like it all that much. a lot of it is crap. its just that its easy to get. as i have gotten older and have learned how to cook better i rarely eat it anymore.
Yeah the main thing a lot of the times is convenience. I've learned so far that cooking my own meals takes a bit of patience, but it is worth the effort.
I'm sitting at 203.6 now. I'm tired of the CDC calling me obese. Its been near impossible to loose weight when your wife can't stay motivated to a diet with you, and now that she's pregnant, she eats more. I'm cutting my portions in attempt to get my weight back under control.
what sucks is the aches/injuries of constantly working out. right now, i have an elbow tendinitis and i've never had that before. i stretch before and after a workout so i dunno why i have it. maybe too much stress doing cardio kickboxing...i'm still going to do my cardio today, just more emphasis on my lower body instead of using my arms for explosive movements. i'm not worried about losing lbs but losing sizes...i'm getting more toned!
Try ibuprofren. I got severe shin splints playing competitive Ultimate (my shins literally felt like they were burning). Taking ibuprofren immediately stopped the pain, and I was able to keep playing while they healed. It really was like a wonder drug.
sucks i havent been losing the pounds at the same rate as i was earlier, but at the same time i let myself become a bit lazy too. i was 267 this morning going to start back to what i was doing back in march now.
I've been jogging each morning for almost 2 weeks now... down 3 pounds since 6/6. And to follow up with what moes is saying...sticking to organic really is curbing any cravings for fast food/refined sugars...plus I have tons of energy to workout every day. This has been such an amazingly great change to make.
Saw this ad on CF.net. That's some darn good weight loss. Or is it photoshopped (if not outright fake)?
You should think about dropping the workout altogether. You are putting stress and un-needed damage to your body. I know it is fun, but there are other fun exercise you can do that can be done for a lifetime and not have you with sore joints when you are 60.
I think at 220 and 26% BF you should work the BF down further. Just do whatever you have been doing to lower the BF. How are you checking the BF anyways? 230 is pretty big and a pretty good strain on your heart that you could avoid. It also is not good to yo-yo diet even if it is controlled. Big part of the reason bodybuilders have heart problems.
