I'm not worrying about my weight anymore because I want to tone up instead of losing weight. I'm on the track of eating well and trying to work out 2-3 times a week.
you effectively want the same thing. you're still trying to lose "weight" just wording it differently. what you're really trying to lose is body fat, which leads to lower weight and more visible muscle definition. adding muscle will of course help you burn fat. it is still the same goal though, really. weighing yourself isn't as good as getting body fat measurements.
right, body fat is best indicator instead of weight because i could gain a pound in muscle... I see some weight scales that comes with a body fat measurement at stores and I'm not sure if they're effective. A personal trainer once told me that I should go to the gym and have my body fat checked by a personal trainer to get most accurate result. It would be great if there is something that will give me good results. I use online body fat calculator but they are not a good indicator for my progress.
they're not. I did a lot of research into this last week -- I bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=370160940644&Category=162 they've gotten very good reviews. unfortunately they're not 100% accurate...it seems like it is a very good general indicator if you do it correctly though. the disparity between tests is usually small. the best results you can possibly get will be from a) a personal trainer b) [the true best] a water displacement test...they're expensive and hard to get done. this is a cheap alternative and you can do it yourself daily. I was going to get the little measuring tools, but I don't have time to do that garbage everyday. this system works in about 7 seconds. as for scales with body fat measurements built in: unless you buy one for $100 it will be trash. the scale might be good, body fat test won't be.
Awesome! I remember using it at our company's health fair. I completely forgot about that. I'll be buying that soon. Thanks for your advice!!
Weighed in at 183.4 Lost a pound, dammit. I'm gonna have to get a weight-gainer. I just can't keep up with the quantity of calories that I need to gain.
I know! Right?!!? I mean... On somedays, I'm good and get up to around 3500 calories, but on most days, it's just around 3000 (which is just enough to maintain) or 2800 (which mean's I'm starting to lose). Ugh. Gonna have to start doing a gainer.
