Scola with a big rebound and putback. Ramos failed to box him out. Then Scola shows his flopping skills at the other end. The ref doesn't bite and Ramos sinks the hook shot.
btw, I think if Manu played, he would make the last play. That should have been 'Manu Time!' But, anyway, Scola has lead this team without many of their nba talents to be able to qualify for the 2010 world championship. He should be very pround of him. As a rockets fan, I am very pround of him.
Yea, Arroyo hit some clutch shots toward the end. Does anybody know who the spanish sounding announcer was on the justin.tv feed? He seemed to criticize Argentina every chance he got.
I am too lazy to look, but how many years does Scola have left on his contract? Yao is my favorite player, but I'm sure all will agree his foot is a major let down. So I want a Scola jersey, but not a cheapy, one of the $75 jumpman or whatever the hell they are called.
By the way, does Luis look like his usual self based on his overall performance in this tournament? What are the implications for Argentina, after losing? Are his international obligations over now for this year?
They will compete for the 3rd place tomorrow. The schedule (sept. 6, sunday) Argentina vs. Canada 18h30 ET Puerto Rico vs. Brazil 21h00 ET p.s. I think Scola is the MVP of this tournament. So far, he is the leading scorer, 22.9 pts at 53.8 fg%. He also got 7.1 rbs & 2.4 asts per game.
So... do you think any of this current Argentina team has NBA talent besides Scola? I remember Prigioni doing quite well in Spain and the Rockets were reported to have looked at him.
Will Argentina qualify for the World Championships if they end up in 3rd place? I hope that Luis won't have to play much more international basketball anymore.
