Sullivan: A religious test for public office - clearly stated by the GOP's most powerful base figure. Catholics aren't real Christians either, according to Dobson. Now maybe people will take the threat to secular politics seriously. Here's the acid test: see if any of the other Republican candidates or a leading figure in the Bush administration attacks Dobson's position. This is getting interesting.
after the way McCain got railroaded by Bush and his GOP allies, I wouldn't be shocked at all if he had left after the 2000 elections. Rove and Bush have done far mroe harm to the GOP than I ever thought possible.
well I thought it was a given that they've screwed up the country =) my point is more for my fellow GOP brethren.
here's mccain's response to the prank mentioned above: <embed FlashVars='config=http://www.comedycentral.com/motherload/xml/data_synd.jhtml?vid=84575%26myspace=false' src='http://www.comedycentral.com/motherload/syndicated_player/index.jhtml' quality='high' bgcolor='#006699' width='340' height='325' name='comedy_player' align='middle' allowScriptAccess='always' allownetworking='external' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer'></embed>
wow. surprising to see guliani. i'd think mccain would be the leader by a wide margin. He's reasonable, experienced, and willing to work with others rather than bicker endlessly.
Reporter in Baghdad: You said there are areas in Baghdad that you can walk around freely... McCain: Yeah, I just came from one.
The guy just keeps falling in my estimation of him. I used to like him, but no longer. D&D. Space Cadets.
McCain to Re-Launch Campaign "Amid growing internal concern about poor fundraising and the direction of his presidential campaign, Sen. John McCain's top advisers bluntly told backers on Tuesday of plans to overhaul the campaign," The Politico reports. Said campaign finance chairman Tom Loeffler: "This is clearly a moment in the campaign that says, 'Hello? Wake up!' It’s not a time to jog anymore. It’s a time to sprint in the fundraising efforts. We have learned the political fundraising realities of 2007, and we are making the proper adjustments." The Hotline says McCain "pursued an events-based strategy, mainly, but the fundraising team spent a lot of time working off McCain's 2000 donor list and pursuing internet and mail donors -- a low dollar telemarketing strategy... The changes: more accountability, more communications with fundraisers, a better, more efficient structure for bringing in donations." http://politicalwire.com/
Good news for Dems all around... Pryor's safe and now thw money that would have to be spent against Huckabee can go to other Sentae races. Also, Huckabee's an interesting presidential candidate and will definitely cause the frontrunners some difficulty, particularly in the debates.
i dont get all the mccain bashing. so b/c he said you could walk around in baghdad...obviously he isnt presidential material?
