Boring! Ten middle aged white guys who all want to be Reagan. And not one who appeals to the republican base. 08 is the democrat's to lose.
Ron Paul is the last chance for America. The American Empire is on its last legs about where Rome was in 350 AD
Nobody in the media will even discuss his views. The Tucson paper only mentioned he was in attendance.
One thing I'm confused about with Ron Paul though is his stance on taxation. I know he is opposed to the income tax, but does he propose an alternative? Or does he simply wish to totally do away with taxes in general?
The problem he really has is with the huge amount of govt. borrowing. He would like to come up with some long term strategies to- Pay the debt way down Restore constitutional tax systems And gradually eliminate the income tax He has written some very good pieces on this. I have discussed this with him personally but not to any depth. I know for certain that the he is not happy that the $900 billion we bring in with an income tax barely pays the bankers their interest. I think he realizes it will take time to develop a system that ensures good social services, trimming govt. waste and unnecessary spending so that the borrowing frenzy can stop. Our debt load is over 14 trillion not including derivative contracts that are estimated much higher and we are now increasing our debt load at about 2 trillion/ year. All that our govt. spends pretty much is borrowed. Debt bubbles have pumped the economy, but unless we can keep the GDP growing at much larger rates we will eventually have to settle the interest and currency problems we are creating. Rep. Paul understands this and is the right person to get us heading away from the roar of the waterfall in the distance.
ALSO- email him and ask him your question. It may take a while but I have found he has answered any question I have asked over the last few years he was my congressman. If you email him, I feel certain if at all possible he will answer your question.
Well I emailed his campaign website earlier this morning, but I figured people here might know more. I wanted him to elaborate on his positions on taxation as well as humanitarian issues. I won't lie and say that I am an out and out humanitarian concerned with all the problems of the world, but I also am not interested in totally ignoring everything beyond our borders either.
run away!!! RUN AWAY!!!!!!! President Bush’s name was invoked by Republican candidates only once during yesterday’s 90-minute debate, in response to a question about Scooter Libby’s pardon. By comparison, Ronald Reagan’s name was cited 19 times. The breakdown: Ronald Reagan mentions: 19 times Giuliani: 5 Romney: 3 Brownback: 1 Hunter: 2 Huckabee: 1 Thompson: 3 McCain: 3 Gilmore: 1 George W. Bush mentions: 1 time MATTHEWS: Let me go to, Senator — do you think Scooter Libby should be – BROWNBACK: Let the legal process move forward, and I’d leave that up to President Bush. And I think he could go either way on that. Both Jeb Bush and George Herbert Walker Bush were invoked by the candidates as often as George W. Bush. http://thinkprogress.org/
the constant repeat about Reagan was a mess, it's like: just be real and say what you are here for! stop the licking and kissing
