bloomberg weird to say this, but its relatively decent news. certainly not the worst it could have been, and better than expected.
ahhh the good ole government fudging the numbers...they are so trustworthy. i'm glad they are managing our tax dollars. on a side note...does anyone know what the unemployment rate would be if they calculated it the same as they did back in the 30's?

if they paid you wingnuts to try to shift this blame on obama we'd have 0% unemployment. you guys should read the comments on the chron web site everytime some bad news comes out. the nuts started blaming obama in November.
This really isn't a left/right issue. It doesn't matter who is in charge because this all falls squarely on the shoulders of the federal reserve. They shouldn't have caved time and time again when we the people and the politicians freaked out at the slightest bit of bad economic news, thinking we lived in a fantasy land where recessions didn't occur. They drank the kool-aid along with the rest of us when it was their duties as the unelected oversears of the economy to know better.
yes but it is a left right issue because the right refuses to wake up and realize that the current situation is dire and we need to get a huge ass stimulus and pass it as quickly as possible. the right has completely abdicated its responsibility of at least trying to kickstart the economy.
