Much of his gain looks like it's coming in states where Clinton won big...

This map is not half bad. Most of know that John Kerry was ahead leading up to the election, but he was NEVER this far ahead. Without Florida, or Ohio, the GOP can forget about. Hell, Alaska is at play:

    Obama 344 McCain 194

Agreed and what doesn't fit is Obama having such a big electoral lead. I don't know any more about polling than anyone else here, but I think Obama's state by state surge is less reliable than the daily national polls.

I'm well aware of the difference between the electoral vote count and national polls, but the disconnect since Obama clinched doesn't make sense.

You know what, guys? (and gals?) I haven't posted in this thread up until now because the person who started it is on my ignore list. Why? For a reason all of you chose to ignore, being too caught up, I suppose, in proving Hillary Clinton is the Anti-Christ. (hey, maybe she is!) This GuerillaBlack fellow made an incredibly tasteless joke about Bobby Kennedy, just 11 days before the 40th anniversary of his murder, and I was the only person here to get angry about it. I'm wondering why.

    Here's the thread - http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=148873&page=5&pp=20&highlight=Bobby+Kennedy

He posted this, for those too lazy to look it up:

You know what? He posted the exact same thing at SpursTalk. http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-96568.html

This was his "apology" to me when I called him out on it in the original thread:

"Was RFK your brother or something? If sorry sorry. If not, was just a joke. Don't take it so damn seriously."

Apology #2, right after the first one:

"You also put me on after one comment I made that you think was the worst thing in the world. Not like I have a history of making horrible comments (in your opinion). Peace."

I started this post thinking I would ask him if he wanted to make a real apology. Looking up the thread in a search here, I discovered that the image wouldn't display. So I googled it. Doing that, I discovered his exact same tasteless joke in a Spurs forum. Needless to say, I won't be offering any "forgiveness," not after discovering that he did it twice, here and on SpursTalk.com.

So everyone have a good time discussing the election in this thread. I'll be leaving this chump on ignore and discussing it in other threads here.

    Cheers.

Impeach Bush and Sentence Him to Live with the Other Fools of this World.

I hope you defend Tmac with the same vigor. Talk about blowing things out of proportion.

RFK joke was in really poor taste.

I've got a good one about FDR, but I'm afraid it's too soon.

Seriously, the Spurs forum thing is hard to swallow.

If you check the times, he posted it after posting that "joke" here, after I called him out on it, and after twice offering his "apologies." Pathetic. I wasn't looking for the Spurs forum at all. It popped up when I searched for the image, or I would never have seen it. Unbelievable.

Look, I realize Bobby Kennedy was murdered before many of you were even born, but some of us here were grown up, driving around in cars, dating, and politically involved. RFK was a hero of mine. I truly loved that man, much like many of you feel about Barack Obama. I thought the world of him, admiring him much more than I did his older brother. I was watching the California primary on TV, saw him give his speech, and then proceeded to see him gunned down by that b*stard. Damn right this sick attempt at humor pissed me off. And if anyone doesn't "get it," I really don't give a tinker's continental damn.

No sir. I made the post before you posted in the Clutchfans thread. Look at the times. I posted it here at 7:02 AM. Then at SpursTalk at 7:25 AM. You then responded at 8:02 AM.

    Nice try.

And I have already apologized for it, because it maybe wasn't in good taste (for some people).

So, you admit to insulting a great American (twice) and posting on SpursTalk?

Sorry, chump. All anyone has to do is click on the links to see the times. And a sad try at attempting to change the subject from your pathetic "joke," posting the same pathetic "joke" on SpursTalk.com, and your equally pathetic "apologies." I don't know if you are just incredibly immature, have a sick, twisted sense of humor, or are simply stupid. I'll let anyone else who might be interested decide.

You should be delighted. Few seem to care.

I posted both comments before Decker made any type of comment. And people have made fun of plenty of Great Americans. I guess mine was just a little too soon, and around his anniversary death. It was bad timing, and I already apologized. Decker thought he had me again, but I guess he can't tell time ;).

Stop trying to blow this thing up, and have everyone against me. All you have to do is read the dates.

Your reply at ClutchFans (which is really no better than anything I said, as you want me to kill myself, but whatever), 5/25/08 at 8:05 AM: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=3705068&postcount=92

I didn't respond to your post until 8:24 AM. That's when I saw it.

You know, if you really wanted to apologize and have it seem sincere, you'd quit adding those little jabs at the end.

Because you're a little off. You're acting like a knee-jerk reaction a fan would have when somebody insults their favorite player. He wasn't making fun of his assassination. He made a comment about his appearance in the photo. I really don't see the big deal. Can we get back on topic now? Nobody was asking "Where's Deckard?!" in this thread, until you deemed it necessary to come in here and state why you were absent to start something completely irrelevant to the topic. I've appreciated a lot of the info major and others have posted in here, and I'd like to keep the thread about the actual topic.

I don't need his apology. He is trying to make me out for somebody I am not, and have forum members against me. No one noticed his absence in this thread, so why does he feel that he needs to do it?

80% of Americans believe the country is on the wrong course

The number of Americans who believe the country is moving in the wrong direction has risen sharply, to nearly eight in ten, amid soaring food and gas prices, falling home values and unending war. Just 17 percent say the country is going in the right direction, according to an AP-Ipsos poll.

    -----------

Among the findings of the AP-Ipsos survey:

_Men were more likely than women to think that the U.S. is headed in the right direction _ 20 percent to 14 percent.

_Just one in 10 Americans with household incomes below $25,000 feel the country is headed the right way compared with 21 percent of those with household incomes of $50,000 to $75,000.

_One-quarter of Republicans (including those who said they were leaning Republican) believe the country is headed in the right direction, compared with 11 percent of Democrats (including those leaning Democratic).

_People with lower incomes were more likely to frame the economic situation as their own "cost of living," while wealthier people listed the economy more abstractly _ a sign that those hurting the most personalize the issue a bit more.

Look, the only reason I decided to post in this thread was to ask the chump for a sincere apology. I had no intention of doing anything else. My desire was to give myself a justification for posting in a thread started by someone I had on ignore. Only after I discovered, accidentally, that he had made the exact same post at SpursTalk.com did I decide to tell everyone about.

I don't give a damn what anyone thinks. I'll only post in this thread to respond to what I had to say. Maybe if you had seen Robert Kennedy laying on the floor, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head, live on TV, and you cared about him the way some of you care about Obama, you would understand.

Honestly, considering the reaction from everyone except rimrocker, I wonder why I am here. I'm fast losing a lot of the respect I have for many of the members who post in D&D, including you. It's astonishing to me that I even have to explain this once, much less repeat myself. It astonished me that no one had anything to say about it in the original thread. Believe me, I have a lot to think about. As much as I enjoy this place, if this fool, the thread starter, can get away with a tasteless joke about a genuine American icon, 11 days before the anniversary of his murder, who had far more of a reaction from young Americans at the time he was running for the nomination than we're are seeing today with Barack Obama, as amazing as that is, and can do it not only here, but on a Spurs forum, then what the hell am I doing here?

Drama queen? Put it where the sun don't shine, buddy.

    Impeach Bush.
