I did kinda think that would be the case. I didn't take you for Deve (but in that situation I would have gotten Vlad and a couple of prospects for Cliffy). I'm not sure who I would offer but I think we can work something out. I will try to catch you in chat to iron it out. However I am sure that as soon as the trade is processed Vlad will suffer a career ending toenail injury and Cliff will hit .320 with 150 RBI and 65 HR CK
But...but...I thought I was the only one. Now I know what it feels like....when doves cry. Sounds good. I think I may have an offer you can't refuse. We can work it out in chat.
Manny, I like Rios some. Also obviously Lobb, but I figure getting him would be tough. And I like the underachieving spooneybarger, and Delossantos. I'm not exactly sure what I have available to trade though, as most of my pieces are in place for this team(needs time) but I am willing to talk on most anyone.
Castor, just asking for the sake of asking, but Phillips is off limits right. I would give up most anything for him. Also, I like Lidge, Lane(slightly), Cresse(I could involve Hill if necessary)
Yeah Phillips is pretty much untouchable unless I got a really good SS replacement. The other 3 could be traded but I am not sure what I would want. I like Cresse so it would have to be a good deal for him and to trade Lane I would need an OF replacement for him. For Lidge I would probably want MR help since that is probably one of my weaknesses.
Of the players you named, only Delossantos is *somewhat* obtainable. Of course, you can make offers for the others, and if I think the guys are comparable or equal (or obviously better) then I can deal Lobb, Rios, and/or Spooney. However, I am somewhat reluctant to deal anyone including Delossantos right now because I like the chemistry of this team. BTW - Adrian Gonzalez might be available soon, if you are interested. Unless I am trading major parts of my team like Lobb or my better relievers like Rios and Spooney, I am looking for position player prospects that are in AA or A. As always, I will listen to any offers you have and consider them.
Well for Phillips I was planning on offering Floyd or Williams, Conklin, and something else within reason. Lane(I would give Lee as the OF back, plus whatever you wanted, Cresse would be centered around the underachieving Koyie Hill(yes he can catch, just has no range so his PB number is huge). Lidge, I would offer you Davis-another Sp for your contending team, cardenas, and fossum can be involved Manny, I understand. I'm not really "worried" about my team, but thinking how I can get longterm pieces I need. If I were to offer for Spooney it would prob center around Tejada, and Lobb, prob around Guttierrez, and something else within reason.
DV, Tejada would be great except that he has no duration as a reliever and I am happy with my rotation right now. Gutierrez is a talent but Lobb is more developed. However, I am going to go ahead and make this announcement to everyone: Adrian Gonzalez, 1B is now available. He is good in hits, good in homers, good in walks - just not producing right now for me. So, if you are interested, make me an offer. I am looking for a good position player prospect (if in top 100 would be a plus) and a backup OF, one that is better than Terrence Long.
Well, I needed to ask-yeah Tejada is one of my 6 good SP, however with foppert being a two pitch pitcher I may move him into the bullpen. Cardenas was the other possibility. Guttierrez is close but I am sending him back to AAA because I want him to get some confidence hitting again. Out of curiosity, what would it take to get Gonzalez, even though, he doesnt fit my team all that well.
Btw Manny, I can trade you Carlos Lee separately if you want a solid outfielder with an expiring contract
Ok, my relievers just single-handedly blew about 6 games in this 5-7 sim. I am in the market for mlb ready relievers. Nobody too old or too expensive. Find me in chat or email me at SteveFrancis0003@yahoo.com if you have guys that might fit my needs.
OK, I have no room for Torii Hunter, and he needs to be traded. He's AGF, but his numerical talents in homers and doubles are both very good. He's had a strong start to the season so far, and has A range/defense in centerfield along with a perfect fielding percentage and an A arm. I'm simply looking for a mid-level prospect that I can put in my minor system, or a quality current reliever. If interested, let me know.
The Los Angeles Wakefields are interested in bolstering their heart laden team. A stud pitcher, and/or a key infielder are the objects of desire. If this excites anyone, scan the minors and unleash your liking. deanbcurtis@mac.com if privacy is necessary. Happy Hunting.
The Giants have an excess of outstanding young arms. Therefore, they are putting Rodney Meyer(G-G-G-A), Bryan Ettinger(G-G-A-A), Nathan Dawley(G-G-A-A) plus James Baker/Joaquin Benoit(G-F-F-G, G-F-P-B), on the block. Also Jose Jimenez is attainable. They would like experienced veteran relievers with relatively cheap contracts in return. Also, a strong righthanded 1b can't hurt to platoon with Nick Johnson. Also Nate Guttierrez could be available, if I got a good cf in return-someone like a keith reed in texas is a good cf. Or I package him with Conklin to get an uber shortstop(but with Randy's sparkling ability to get on base, highly unlikely). Make offers here, or to davidv2001@yahoo.com Btw, DHR, I like Urbina, Evans and some of your MR prospects. I don't know what it would take however, but I am interested.
I have not had much patience with my guys who have good ratings/and or are normally good, but have underperformed this year. Several of those types, such as Hutt who was having a poor season, are already gone. Now I am possibly looking to move some others to cut a bit of salary and make room for prospects. Those on the block: J. Heaverlo 30 SP Good Average Good Good A Jeff was an All-Star in 2005 with a 18-10 record. In 2006, an injury kept him out for the full season after a nice first game. In 2007 he came back from the injury well, with 19 more innings than his all-star season, 21 more K's, a slightly lower ERA, and less run support leading to a still good 13-9 record. This year, however, Jeff is not in top form, and has an ERA of 6.00 in 12 starts. I have a lot of faith that he will bounce back to normal before too long, but I need to make room for prospects, and with other guys pitching the way they are, Jeff is the odd man out in Seattle. Jeff's contract is $7 million and expires after next season. ----- K. Wunsch 36 MR Good Fair Average Average D Kelly has very good numerical ratings, is a lefty, and had nice stats from 2000-2005, with the exception of 2001. In 2006, he had an ERA of 5.89, and since then I haven't really used him long enough to see what he can do, with 9 innings all of last season and 5 this season. If anyone is interested in giving Kelly a change, I'll trade him virtually for free. Kelly's contract is $2.5 million and expires after next season. ----- J. Stephens 28 MR Good Good Good Average D John had good stats his first 4 years, until he got to Seattle. He doesn't seem to like pitching for me based on his performance. Intriguing about John is this: Duration as Starter : C Duration as Reliever : D Yes, he has better starting duration than a reliever.. John has a nice 2.2 contract that goes through 2011. I am still intrigued by John's nice ratings and the fact that he should really be listed as a starter, but the right offer could make him expendable. ----- You know the rest.. chat, email whatever.
I had to post this somewhere and figured here was as good as anywhere. In my routine post-sim free agent pitcher perusals, I found that one Chris Bootcheck had been released and promptly signed him to a contract of around $250K for the rest of this season. He hasn't yet pitched a game for me. The point is, he's not good, but he's not terrible, and so if there's anybody else who wants Bootcheck and would have out-bid me for the rights to sign him, I am happy to release him and sign him on to the team in question. This is just FYI.
Does anybody want Nathan Dawley(G-G-A-A, 24 yr old SP, fair in doubles) Cortez Baez(A-B-G-G, lefthanded, tore up triple A this yr, 25 years old) Jose Jimenez(G-G-F-A, with a good in doubles, 35 year old closer making 1.5 mil for next year) Casey Fossum(Aggie grad, G-F-A-F, avg in doubles, lefthanded, under 400k salary for next year) Frank Host(G-G-A-A, 20 yr old SP) Also, Joaquin Benoit(28, G-F-P-B, did well as a starter in SF last year) and James Baker(G-F-F-G, 26 yr old SP) can be had. Nick Johnson(G-A-B, 1b, 3 mil contract is an outside possibility as well) All of these players outside of Host have major league experience or are in triple A Prospects, or Packaging these guys for solid major leaguers is what the Giants want.
