Man, Stewart had a ridiculous day vs South Fla 23-253, TD but, unless he goes off the charts with the combine, I sincerely doubt that Kuby will take Stew despite some freak show attributes (5-10, 230# and 4.45 (40) speed. Man, he's going to be tough to pass up IF he's even available. He now may not make it to our pick thanks to his Sun Bowl exploits.
Martellus Bennett just declared for the draft. Don't think he'll be targeted by the Texans since we already have Daniels, but Bennett could be a mid-1st rounder which could shake up the draft a little. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5430733.html
If we have several needs and one of the better tight ends in the league, why would we waste a first round pick on another one?
I don't think gucci is saying to take Bennett just that he will be a first round pick thus causing someone to fall to us.... That being said, I think MB is more of a late 2nd to early fourth prospect. I think we have to go OL, DB, or RB - unless we fill one of those needs through FA
That's why I said the Texans won't be targeting him. Supposedly he got a 1st-round grade from the reports. Like stevel posted, this could cause someone to fall to us if he is taken early.
Hey everyone, here's a RB no one is talking about ... Ray Rice! VS. Ball State 35-280 4 TDS. He certainly aint chopped liver but, after this last game will he be on the board in the 3rd round? I'm betting not. So, I think if we can't get Clady at # 18 make a move for (double up or 2 with an extra 3) 2nd round and try to get an OL there possibly either later in the second or early 3rd might still be able to get Ray Rice. What do y'all think about that possibility? That is if he decides to declare but hey why wouldn't he?
I think Rice would be a great pickup if we can somehow get a 2nd rounder, don't think he'll last til' the 3rd. He's a compact runner who has good speed/power. Has also shown he can be a workhorse. Kinda reminds me of MJD.
I'll be seriously pissed off if the Texans don't pick up a RB in the draft, this RB class is unbelievably deep w/ a ton of talent. Darren McFadden Jonathan Stewart Steve Slaton* Felix Jones Jamaal Charles Kevin Smith Ray Rice Tashard Choice Mike Hart Allen Patrick Rashard Mendenhall
no kidding, I would never watch the Texans again if they don't pick a running back in this draft. (sike) here's my list in order who I'd want McFadden J. Stewart Kevin Smith Ray Rice Tashard Choice Felix Jones Jamaal Charles ......................I really don't know the rest well save for Hart and Slaton. I think Slaton is more of a poor man's Reggie Bush and Hart IMO is not a game breaker. I seriously don't think we don't have a shot at Mcfadden but would be more ecstatic if we picked up Jonathan Stewart. This is a deep class of RB however. My thinking is that Kubes will wait till the 3rd round to draft a RB so I won't get my hopes up too high for the top 3 on my list.
whats the name of the white running back at LSU. man that guy is a power runner! WHITE THUNDER!!! wouldnt mind if the texans picked him up.
Personally I think Mendenhall is up there with Stewart below McFadden in the rankings. Felix Jones could also go as high as the first round. I don't see anyone taking Charles or Choice until the 3rd round at the earliest. Rice could go as high as the 2nd but probably won't.
Getting Charles in the 3rd would be an absolute steal IMO. He's still a little raw but the kid has a ton of talent. Haven't seen a whole lot of Mendenhall but he is highly regarded as a RB so it seems he could potentially shake up the 1st round.
