stop the bull****s like that. If Chinese votes are so overwhelming, how come Yao has got just about 440,000 votes? less than a lot of people on the list.

Wow Shaq at second and Duncan third. And yeah, Yao and T-Mac do need a lot more votes.

What does everyone think the only reason Yao gets to the all-star game is because of China?

    Which is totally fallacy.

He actually beat Shaq in U.S. paper votes in 2004.

The reason he wins so many all-star spots:

    1) What other center in the west is as deserving as Yao for starting center spot?

    2) Hasn't he been deserving of it averaging over 20 ppg and 10 rebs for the last 3 seasons?

    3) He's pretty popular with the fans as well as the Rockets, they used to be a big draw on the road.

link please? I find it hard to believe that Yi has 98,000+ write-in votes only in America. I'm guessing Bucks fans and Chinese Americans wrote him in but that still doesn't make up for all of it.

The Chinese vote does play a role. It may not be overwhelming like everyone says, but it's not exactly something that is non-existent. We saw the power of the Chinese vote in Yao's rookie year, and we're seeing the power of their vote in Yi's rookie year.

I don't think it's a big deal like most people make it out to be. All-Star voting has always been a popularity contest, not exactly who has played the best. That is why the coaches select the bench. Don't worry Chinese fans, Yi will be on there once he starts playing consistently good.

someone voted Adonal Foyle as east start center
many voted Eric Dampier as west start center
many voted Jerry Brickhouse as he ain't starter of Mavs

    Baron Davis/Biedrins got no respect
    Deron Williams/AJamison/CKaman got no respect

so who cares.. ASG is a show.

so i voted Yao/Tmac/Shane/Luis and Yi.

How about this year? Why did Yao get just 440,000 votes in the first return? He is 9th in the league. It is so insulting to both Yao and Chinese for people like you keep saying it is all about Chinese clicking the web. Chinese may be too crazy about Yao in his rookie year just as they are crazy about Yi now, but I see Chinese fans vote in all star way more reasonably than you can imagine.
