That's objectivity?? That's just one notch below Sowly-D sunshine pumping.

Here's objectivity: The Texans have at best a patchwork OL, an unproven QB who had a great game againt NE, 3 band-aids at RB, and only one offensive threat at WR. The defense is young but has the potential to be nasty in the future. The key word here is "future." They don't have the experience or depth to keep us in games ala Ravens... or even the Raiders of last year.

Mind you I haven't even taken health and schedule into consideration.

Thus, #1 pick is more likely than winning season.

Don't see how the Texans could have worse records than the Vikings, Lions, Raiders, Dolphins, and possibly the Redskins. But then again, we have no idea how Schaub will handle things.

Who said anything about a winning season other than my sarcastic first post? A ton of unforseeable things would have to go wrong for the Texans in order for them to have the #1 pick. Anyone who thinks that is even remotely likely is a hater, plain and simple.

He can't be worse that Carr. And somehow, we didn't pick #1 with him at the helm last season.

There's no reason to believe that a team would go from drafting #1 a year ago to #8 the next year... and then down to #1 again the following year. Especially considering that training camp hasn't even started yet, much less the season.

I'm willing to bet you anything that we have a winning season before we draft #1 again.

It's too early to pick next years draft order. I'll bet no one was picking Baltimore and San Diego to have a 1st round bye in the playoffs at this time last year. Not to mention the SB Champion Steelers not even making the playoffs.

this is a dumb thread to even post argument in. If someone really believes that the Texans have any major percentage chance (outside of Andre and Demeco going out for the season early or something) of finishing with the worst record.. then anything you say isn't really gonna convince them otherwise.

we won 6 games last year. even if we fall off a bit, i can't imagine this team winning any less than 4 games. that ain't gonna get us the #1 pick. i'd love to have mcfadden, though.

A ton of things wouldn't have to go wrong for them to lose a lot of games. They are the underdog most of the time they step onto the field, at least from a talent perspective. In fact, I can't think of a single team in the NFL that Houston has a clear edge on as far as talent goes.

Hopefully good coaching will make up for some of that and a few breaks will go their was as well, but it could easily go the other way. They could be competitive in every game and still end up with the worst record.

why even waste bandwidth predicting NEXT year's draft? i don't know who's more in need of a brain check, the person who took the time to predict next year's draft or the one that thinks such predictions are thread-worthy to discuss. this thread should be locked.

I just read a 2037 Mock Draft that had the Sacramento Titans taking Vernon Dozier, RB out of Virginia with the #1 overall pick.

Of course, Vernon Dozier hasn't been born yet, but it's never too early to guess!
