The Red Sox are the only team this year with an obnoxious fanbase that can back up all their trash talking. Cubs and Yankees are both gone.

Cubs have NEVER had anything to backup with trash talking. IIRC, the Freakin Astros have more playoff wins at MMP than the Cubbies do at Wrigley. LMAO.

The Red Sox are set up to compete for the next decade. Beckett, Dice K, and Lester all all ace materials and they've got this Materson kid waiting in the wing. Pitching wins in the playoffs and they've just lots of good starting pitching.

Yeah... and one of them happens to be perhaps the BEST/most filthy pitch by any individual pitcher in the game today (even now better than Mariano's cutter, Hoffman's changeup, Roy's curve). Actually, I'd say its neck and neck with Santana's chengeup.

Regardless.... the lack of respect being shown this guy is still astounding. I mean, Dennis FREAKING Eckersly (aka, "the Eck"... aka "mullet-man"), who knows a thing or two about great closers, just said that he is overly amazed at how Lidge can be so dominant with pretty much just the slider... and how that simply indicates the stuff that Lidge has.

Now, saying all this praise... I will caution Lidge to not get too far away from the feel of executing that slider. Why do I say this? Because much like 2005 (when Lidge started losing his mechanics), batters are again starting to get themselves out. That Nomar pitch to end the game was a horrible pitch... nowhere close from the release point... but Nomar (in fear of Lidge's stuff), got himself out.

If Lidge gets sloppy again and stops throwing the slider that hovers in the zone till the ultimate last second (Cal Ripkin re-iterated the description of the pitch).... batters will lay off the one in the dirt.

Think Im the only Sox fan on here, but I will try not to be one of those "obnoxious" ones. Saw some of them at the bar last night and even I was annoyed. Dice pitched an incredible game.

Sox-Rays game is unbelievable. Already 7 homers in 6 innings.

Nice win for the Rays. Better than going back to Boston down 2-0 :)

Back and forth game over at LA.

Phillies just retook the lead after tying it.

    Dodger bullpen blowing it.

I can't believe both road teams won today, with Lowe and Lester pitching at home. I thought these games were easy money. :(

seems to me that betting on baseball is never easy money. too many variables in any one game.

    Boston, mix in an out.

Rays are going to win the World Series.
