and intensely painful. on the verge of it all being over...first pennant ever....and then all ripped away in an instant. ugh. roy oswalt in game 6 is my hero.
TB looks tight. I THINK the Sox are gonna win this. This is why I said you can't count them out. Injuries aside, this team is still really solid all the way through.
Agreed, lol. I guess you really can't count them out. I don't see it looking good for Tampa tomorrow. They're way too tense and Boston is steam-rolling them right now. That being said, I do hope the sox lose in Game 7. It'd be all the more sweeter
Man... I feel so bad for Tampa I'm going to use my jinx betting that worked well with the Astros and put some money on the Red Sox in Game 7. That's our only hope. Pretty inexplicable. You can see in his swing that he has a TON of power, and only hit like 3 bombs in the regular season? How do you explain that?
Another victory for the big corporate mega-teams. At least the Mets, Yanks, Angels, Dodgers, etc. are out. I'm a Philly fan if the Sox finish off this latest comeback. Which, I agree with Max, looks pretty likely at this point...
yeah...but this feels different. the sox felt like the underdog coming in...and they certainly felt like the underdog down 3-1. one team looks emotion-less...the other teams looks pedroia-ish. the sox don't "feel" like the big corporate mega-team right now...injury is fueling some of that, i'm sure.
Eh, it feels alot like 2007 to me. Replace Tampa with Cleveland and the script looks almost identical.
except i think most people thought boston would beat cleveland...all i heard before this series was how tampa was the better team.
They had the same record last season, although Boston won the season series. Maybe a majority thought that Boston was better, but it was expected to be very competitive (and it was). I'll tell you this, though, down 1 to 3 there weren't alot of folks who would have laid money on a Bostok comeback.
i should have with the injuries, this one feels more improbable to me than cleveland....but not more improbable than 2004. of course..the sox still have to close it out.
When you had 7 run lead and 7 outs away from going to world serious and you couldn't even close this thing out, you don't deserve to win. I hate the Sox, I hate their guts. But I have to congrats them because this team never quit and they find ways to come back. Unlike A-Rod, they have heart of Champs. Players like A-Rod, they are the champions of payrolls. Unfortunately Yankees has too many of them right now. That is why they gonna suck for a while.
I don't like this pitching match up tonight. but I still say Rays win. I don' think Boston has won 2 games in a row in Tampa all year.
He had something wrong with his shoulder (I can't remember if it was partially separated or something else). He just finally getting it healthy and you can see what he is capable of - when fully healthy. I'm cautiously optimistic about tonight - I'm hoping that Lester doesn't have 2 bad starts in a row but Garza was awfully tough the last time he faced off against JL. However, I did feel that if Tampa didn't win Game 6, then they were going to lose the series - something about momentum. And even if Boston does lose this game and the series, it has been amazing to say the least. I have said it before and I'll say it again - Red Sox fans can't complain about anything. We have 2 World Series titles in the last 4 years (closer to 5 now). Anything after that is gravy. One thing that I am glad was established - how ridiculous it is to call James Shields (who to my knowledge has had only 1 good season which is this season and had never been in the playoffs until this season) "Big Game James". I would guess that you would get that nickname after you won a couple of postseason games, especially those in the World Series - not from going 14-8 or whatever and being dominant for one season at HOME, lmao.
