WTF? There was nothing wrong with Bosworth's performance in Superman Returns. If they're just looking for news-worthy celebrities to douche on, replace Bosworth with Katie Holmes from Thank You For Smoking. Or Lindsay Lohan from A Prairie Home Companion or Bobby. Or Halle Berry from X-Men 3.
Seriously. It's like last year when Tom Cruise was nominated for a number of categories; the guy may be a nut but to include him, and likewise Kate Bosworth...with some of these other actors/actresses is a joke.
What I'd like to know is...What r****d keeps green lighting these Wayans Bros. movies? This is the second time one of their abominations has been nominated for worst movie (White Chicks). Seriously, there is some idiot movie studio person who actually said, "So you want to make a movie where your a thief & a midget. Then you hide out pretending to be a baby with some unsuspecting couple. THAT'S FANTASTIC!"
I've heard/read that these kinds of movies make lots of money because it costs them next to nothing to make it and idiot people still go out and watch them. If I remember correctly, whatever I read or heard specifically mentioned the Wayans family and their movies.
wow no love for Employee of the Month, I actually liked that movie, and i'll buy it once its like $10 (like i do for most movies these days). I didn't expect much but its was actually good, Dax Shepard and Elfren Ramierez (pedro from Napoleon) put in SOLID performances and I guess I one of the few that thinks Dane Cook is funny. To me, he has the wityness that Ryan Reynolds has in his comedy movies. btw, watch Bloodrayne for one reason, Kristinna Loken's hooters.... that is all
Ol' Nic Cage was hard to take serious after his big 3-some of Con Air, The Rock and Face/Off many years ago. Got his Oscar and totally cashed in on the action blockbusters. Though he's still had his moments after. I'm sure the last people to find offense with being Razzie nominated are the Wayans Brothers. They know how to cater to their core of simple minded viewers and are successful at it. Damon and Keenan Ivory woulda sure liked to have figured that out Definitely they're gonna nominate people with some name recognition. The 'worst' means B movies/made-for-video, crap like that. That's not gonna get anyone's attention. Didnt figure Lindsay Lohan to be so bad an actress. I'll still like Michelle Rodriguez in that weird way though....
Apparently, you never saw In Living Color. Homie D. Clown and Fire Marshall Bill weren't exactly Frasier and Niles Crane.
she was terribly miscast and her performance, and the movie, suffered because of it, imo. i'm not sure who would have made a better lois lane (singer cast superman way too young, imo, so he was trapped having to find an age-appropriate co-star and there just aren't that many 20-somethings who could pull off lois lane), but bosworth was a terrible choice - too small and meek, no discernable personality, no weathered experienced written across her face... actually, if you're going to take a blonde and make her lois lane, i would have gone reese witherspoon (though, she might be too "old"); or someone similar who has a presence and some spunk and doesn't blend into the background.
i love Kate Bosworth but there's only one word to describe her performance in Superman Returns....vapid. absolutely miscasted.
I disagree. Katie Holmes, in Batman Begins, was miscast and distracting. (She was nominated last year for a Razzie.) Bosworth was ten times better than Holmes. Yes, she was a little bland as Lois, but at least Bosworth didn't take you out of the movie. For that alone, she doesn't desire a Razzie nomination.
two different movies; just because katie holmes was miscast (and i agree), it doesn't mean bosworth wasn't as well (she was). and "bland" - perfect. and yeah, she was a distraction, to me - i couldn't figure out why two guys, let alone one (including, you know, superman) would fall over themselves for her. she was "bland."
I never understood why so many people hated on Katie Holmes for Batman Begins...she was fine in that movie; as was Bosworth in Returns. Or I'll put it this way; Bosworth was no better nor worse than of the other actors and actresses in that film.
That movie was terrible. Most of the jokes fell flat, Dane had a couple of nice zingers and that was about it. Jessica Simpson was r****ded, she needs to win the razzie hands down. The whole Dax and Pedro thing was funny for about 1 scene, not 15. It's just like any of these comedies, they're going along decentlyuntil the plot actually has to unfold or the "fall in love" moment happens and then it just all goes completely to **** when the characters have to actually show emotion. The Dane Cook - Jessica Simpson "fall in love" moment was so painful I was literally smacking myself in the face while it was unfolding.
This reminds me of when Chris Rock was interviewing people at the Magic Johnson Theater for the oscars and they were all saying White Chicks was the best movie of the year (except one dude that said Chronicles of Riddick was the best movie, and that there was no second place moive).
I dont know why Lady in the Water got so many nominations. I saw far worse movies this year. I didnt think it was great but it was definately not one of the worst of the year.
