The refs hold the whistle for last foul because they wanted to let LeBroom shoot a 3. The refs were trying to help the Cavs. What's good for a 2 foul shoots when the Cavs had no TO and only 3 sec left.

That was one of several individual plays the Cavs want back. If they had taken control of the game while the Spurs went scoreless for 5 minutes, it wouldn't have come down to Varejao having to make a decision.

My guess is he felt hurried to get up a shot attempt just in case they missed. Sometimes immature teams pass the ball like a hot potato and run out of time in those situations. Maybe Varejao wanted to ensure that didn't happen and he thought his shot attempt would end up much better when his motion started. He'll have a tough time living that one down.

I wonder if Pop's head would have exploded if LeBron had hit the 3 to tie since Bowen fouled him before the shot.

True, but it's like letting Chuck Hayes or Ryan Bowen, two players with absolutely no post/individual game whatsoever, take that shot. It should have never happened. Lebron was probably dumbfounded because he had his hands in a catching position anticipating that Varejao would pass it back to him.

A dynasty isn't a team that necessarily wins the title every year. It's one that's consistently dominant over an extended period of time. The Spurs are basically a perfect example of a dynasty, being in the mix for an NBA Title virtually every year since 1999 and winning 3 out of 7 (soon to be 4 out of 8).

Also, that was clearly a foul at the end. Lebron brought the ball up from his dribble, took a step while getting hacked, and launched a three.

Why do you suck on TMac's balls so much? You are the biggest TMac fan on the board in my estimation, bringing him up and defending him any chance you get. Maybe if he did his job you wouldn't have to shine his balls daily in front of us. I'd say he won us one game against Utah this year. That was against Utah. Spurs are obviously better. Lebron is just as good or better than TMac in virtually every way.

I know exactly what would happen if you substituted TMac for Lebron in this series. TMac sees he has talent around him that rivals his days in Orlando. So what does he do? He jacks up 30 shots a game. That worked ok in Orlando. Now he is a shadow of what he was in Orlando as far as scoring goes. So he shoots 30% while being swarmed by the Spurs. He is also raining jumpers as usual instead of driving like Lebron, resulting in only 4 made FTs per game. That puts him at about 24pts, 7rbs, and 3 asts on 30 shots per game. He probably has one game where he shoots 50% and goes off for 35. And they STILL lose. You know what TMac is good for in any series against the Spurs with the Cavs as his supporting cast? An extra clean sweep.

The Verlander no-hitter gets top billing over an NBA finals game... the state of this finals speaks for itself.

I bet tons of TV shows got higher ratings also.

Does anyone remember the what the ratings were when we played Orlando in 95?

and as to the ratings, all the Spurs need to do is play less defense, Get an athletic superstar (ala Wade, LeBron) and they are good

Our ratings were much better. In fact, ratings overall are just sinking. Hell, the game in which OJ Simpson hijacked the coverage got better ratings than this trash.

I just saw the replay on SC/replay of the game, he never dribbled after the contact, it would have been in the act and 3 shots to tie the game.

With Lebron? You never know. Guy is a lousy FT shooter.

Only caught the end of the 3rd and the 4th. Man that was pretty brutal, Spurs don't score for nearly 5 mins and the Cavs still can't win.

I've just been hoping for the series to come to end, hopefully the Spurs will end this in game 4 or else the NBA might need to start a mercy rule and just give the Cavs a participant award.

Oh really! from SC!? I have taped it. LeBroom received the ball and Bowen fouled him, then LeBroom put the ball down and dribbled with his left hand before he pulled up. and that's in slow motion. LOL!

I would understand if Varejo took the shot if there was a mismatch, but he was guarded by Duncan. Needless to say, I think the wise decision would of been to pass back out to Lebron, and then set a screen for him at the top of the key so that he could lose Bowen and possibly go for a 3 point play against Duncan like he did earlier in the game.

First tell me, did u see LeBroom dribbled with his left hand (one dribble) after receiving the ball. If u couldnt see the dribble, than u should download the game online and see it in slow motion.

If u see the dribble, then I can tell you Bowen fouled LeBroom way before the dribble. The spot Bowen fouled LeBroom and the spot LeBroom pulled up for the shoot was 4 feet apart.

Anyway, I am not the only one who see the dribble after the foul.
